Covid vaccine during pregnancy?

Minnie0011 · 15/10/2021 12:44

Hey, i am 20 weeks pregnant and had covid back in October last year. I am unsure whether to have my vaccine or not. I am worried about the long term affects it will have on the baby however terrified of getting covid and losing my baby as we went through fertility and have been trying for 2 years. What has everyone else done?

If they’re smart, had the vaccine.

There are a zillion threads already asking this and providing great, logical and fact based info.

I had both my vaccines during pregnancy, and feel much better knowing I'm vaccinated.

A member of my family was hospitalised with Covid when pregnant. She was placed in a coma and baby was delivered prematurely by CS.

But I’m sure your obstetrician/midwife/fertility consultant has already advised you on this?

I had covid last year too I’ve since had both my jabs but still now have covid again. I would be much more worried about the long term effects of catching covid again in pregnancy as we know that is harmful whereas the vaccine is believed to be safe.

There is clear evidence that getting covid in pregnancy is far, far more risky than getting vaccinated.

You would be mad not to get it.

I thought one of the biggest demographics in hospital with COVID were unvaccinated pregnant women?

WheelieBinPrincess · 15/10/2021 16:06

That’s right, and curious to have got to 20 weeks and the OP unaware of that.

Hello lovely! I understand your fear because I'm currently 28 weeks pregnant and was debating weather to get it or not and tonight I had my first dose at 7pm, I'm feeling good so far and I feel good knowing I've had it Smile

1/5 critically ill covid patients are pregnant. It can also cause premature labour.
