What symptoms did your teens have?

DS14 just tested positive. He’s been off colour with a bad stomach for a few days but started with a cough and headache yesterday morning so tested him and just had his result back.

What symptoms did your teens have and how long were they ill? It’s difficult for me and DP to take time off work and DS seems only mildly ill so far so just trying to work out if we are likely to manage with him mostly home alone. I appreciate it’s different for everyone so no one can predict this for me!

My 16 yr old dd had no symptoms when she tested positive, she was testing twice weekly for school. The day after she started with a cough which became continuous and lasted 3 days, it stopped as suddenly as it had started. Other than that she had no other symptoms and was fine apart from the cough. Hope your ds has a mild case.

Bunged up nose, dry throat, slight cough (for a few hours) on day 1. By day 3 these had gone but he had joint pain and needed medicine. He was tired until day 5. Joint pain went by day 5 and then he felt ok.

He's not 100%, I'd say he's 98% back to normal but post viral same as any other virus.

He's 15.

My ds 14 lost sense of taste. Nothing else at all.

DS14 - temperature, nausea, cough, fatigue, headache and leg pain, loss of appetite.

DS17 - temperature, headache, cough, loss of appetite.

DS17 - temperature, rash all over, cough, loss of appetite.

DS19 - temperature, fatigue, headache.

Lasted about 4 or 5 days for all of them.

Hope your DS is ok soon.

My 13yo has been very very tired, sore throat and bad cough. He’s spent much of the past 10 days in bed and is suppose to be back at school tomorrow but I think he needs a few more days off.
My 16yo coughed about 5 times and was absolutely fine (he had been jabbed).

After the first few days they’d have been fine on their own.

Nothing at all so far.

Shocked when the lateral flow came back positive. Confirmed now by PCR.

Hottubtimemachine · 11/10/2021 22:03

Diarrhoea, headache, cough that’s getting worse at day 7

JanglyBeads · 11/10/2021 22:09

Had to leave my DS14 on his own for much of his first week, he was OK but I made sure I rang him at least once during the day.
Feeling sick, coldy, tired, then alternating between feeling hot, coughing, achey, headache.
On day 17 and not back at school yet though.
