I’ve got a snotty nose and general cold symptoms and developed a mucusy cough on Tuesday just gone, work have told me to have a PCR test which I had yesterday. I’ve still not received my results back and work are asking me for them.

How long on average did you all get your PCR test results back??

Mines just come back too (negative!). The vaccine must really work to be honest. Thank goodness though as means I can pick up my youngest from her residential tomorrow, though I'm honestly quite surprised. Will still be isolating / social distancing etc as much as I can, just in case but has given me some comfort that I'm hopefully not passing anything on!

The vaccine doesn't stop you catching Covid, it reduces the risk of hospitalisation. I have had both vaccines and I currently have Covid, same with both my parents and my partner. We are all "double jabbed" but have still caught the virus.

I'm really glad you have a negative result, though. I had a negative result when I was tested at the same time as my son, but 5 days after he tested positive I started with symptoms and have now tested positive. Fingers crossed you remain negative.

I am double jabbed but the vaccine clearly didn't stop me catching it. Just hoping that it will prevent severe symptoms now!Smile

I got mine in about 19 hours

Thank you for explaining! I did think that was the case, but was the only explanation I could come up with as I'm very surprised at the negative result.

I'll keep up with daily LFTs and get everything important I need to be out and about for done!

I'm double jabbed. Also positive. Also pretty unwell. It's horrible.

ClinkeyMonkey · 07/10/2021 16:31

I took DS at noon last Thursday and his result was emailed to me at 11.30 that night. I was very impressed.

Wow that's really good! We tested 9.30 this morning and were told 12-24 hrs. Not sure where the 72 hrs comes from. DS desperate to get back to school! He stopped coughing after he had the test and now I've started!!

middleager · 07/10/2021 22:57

Double jabbed but had a nasty bout of it three weeks ago. Still ill.

Our wait times were
26 hrs
26hrs
34 hrs
Separate days, walk in centre

BooseysMom · 08/10/2021 06:49

Just got it back. Less than 24 hrs. It was negative. Hurrah!

Muchtoomuchtodo · 08/10/2021 09:54

DS did one at a walk in test centre at 6.30pm last night and we got the results through at 7.05 this morning - less than 13 hours! I’m very impressed.

BooseysMom · 08/10/2021 11:04

They must be working overnight to process them. I didn't expect the result until later today.

I found this thread as it seems we are waiting forever.

One covid teat was postal - received 1am yesterday morning!!

Other one was taken at a drive thru 8.30am yesterday morning.

Neither person's teat has come back so both over 24 hours.

Test 1 at 40 hours
Test 2 at 33 hours...

Any recent timings!?
All ours were previously same day/24 hours and I really want to know before work tomorrow
