Line eyes - feel like I’m going crazy with this testing!

Would you say there’s a line here? Woke this morning with pounding head, cough and nausea so did an LFT and have a PCR booked shortly.

Both kids have coughs but tested negative so far.

DS started with symptoms on Saturday but didn’t show a positive LFT until yesterday - his is the stronger one.

I started with symptoms yesterday and have a definite but fainter line now.

@SpindleWhirl

I honestly can't see a second line.
Me neither!
lockdownmadnessdotcom · 05/10/2021 09:34

Much more obvious on the second pictures.

SpindleWhirl · 05/10/2021 10:17

Yeah, even mole-eyed me can see the 2nd one.

Time for another PCR?

Jackiebrambles · 05/10/2021 10:29

Yes I think you need another pcr.

Noogar · 05/10/2021 10:38

@Ohchristmastreeohchristmastree

Yes I see it. But it is like one of those optical illusion, where if you stare at it, it disappears!
Yes!

@TheWildRumpyPumpus

Mixed results here today! My PCR came back negative, still waiting for the rest of the family. However, LFTs for DS and I are even stronger than yesterday so I’m not sure whether the LFT or PCR is wrong in my case!
Sorry thats a very clear line on the second one isn't it! Hope you're doing ok.
fadingfast · 05/10/2021 12:42

PCR highly likely to be wrong

TheWildRumpyPumpus · 05/10/2021 19:47

DS’s PCR came back positive. I have been for another PCR so we shall see.

Horrible cough and headache but otherwise am feeling OK. Thanks all!

I class my eyesight as perfect vision as confirmed by my opticians, no glasses etc and I can not for the love of me see a line, on any of the ones been posted on here.... obviously if your unsure do a pcr as you have a cough... if I didn’t have one of the 3 listed symptoms and had this test i wouldn’t take it as a positive.

Watching with interest, OP. I've tested negative on all lateral flows. I started with symptoms of a virus (runny nose turning into a cough, tired, bit of a temp) 2 weeks ago. A PCR was negative 2 days later so I was in work on the Friday and the Monday.

Then Monday, DH came home and said one of his colleagues had lost all sense of smell and taste suddenly so was going for a PCR test. Dh as a contact did a lateral flow. It was nearly black, the line. He was sniffing by this time too. So the 4 of us booked in for PCRs the next day. DH's came back positive. I wasn't expecting mine to be positive after the negative one a few days earlier but it was. Teens were both negative.

So I don't know if my first one was a genuine negative and I just had a different cold virus, or if it was a false negative for corona. DS2 has had the same symptoms and tested negative on PCR twice. I was convinced his second one would be positive like mine was.

So it's all a bit weird. I still feel like I can't relax because I've read on here of big time gaps between people testing positive and other household contacts testing positive. Like 9 days later or something.

TheWildRumpyPumpus · 06/10/2021 17:20

Second PCR has come back positive which confirms what I thought. I guess the amount in my system the first day just wasn’t enough to trigger it, or I swabbed incorrectly.

Hope you feel ok! Rest if you can.
