Postal PCR test results over the weekend

I posted my PCR test this morning (Saturday) in a priority post box, over an hour before collection was due, and when I check the tracking number its saying that it has been collected but it is still at the sorting office. Will it be delivered to the lab tomorrow on a Sunday? I thought they got delivered the same day, and I'm gutted that it will just add to the waiting time. What sort of waiting times have you all had for postal results lately?

Posted mine on Fri at 4pm (collection time: 6.30pm), still waiting for results.

This is my second attempt. My first postal kit arrived missing items including the swab grrr, so had to order and wait for another.

Oh no what a nightmare! My status on Royal Mail is still saying at the sorting office, it hasn't had an update since 17:45 yesterday 🙄 it really shouldn't be this difficult!

Well according to Royal Mail they still haven't moved but we've just had our results so fingers crossed for everyone else!

DS's was posted on Thurs AM and I had the result (positive) by email at ten past midnight on Saturday.

Ah thanks, I rushed to get it in a priority box before last collection and didn't take a note of the number stupidly!

I forgot to note it down as I felt bloody rough and folding the box had already challenged me! 🙈🤣

My result was negative. I just have other grim germs!

Oh God, me too. I was almost in tears because I couldn't figure out the box. Which was a clear sign I was very unwell!!

Wow really! It's crazy how much variation there is in waiting times

The box was definitely a nightmare. I left the security label in the bag and put it in the bin. I spent ages trying to close it then looking for the bloody label.

Posted at 1pm yesterday (collection at 4). Results came through at 2.20 today, which I think is really impressive.

Still no update on delivery on Royal Mail website, and no results 😔 I really hope my test isn't still sitting in a sorting office 🤞

When I did a postal one for me (NE) a few months ago the results took 4 days.

I took youngest DD to a testing site Thursday at 12:30pm and I'm still waiting for results. She shows no signs of Covid but was advised to get one because of how many cases they're within the school. Normally been 24 hours at most for test sites so I don't understand why we haven't had anything yet.

I got my results at 4am (negative) I'm actually impressed with the turn around time to be honest, and I wouldn't have been panicking if it had shown as being delivered!

I finally got my results at 7am today. Positive as expected.

I'm less impressed with the experience. With my first postal kit taking 2 days to arrive then having a missing swab, the second postal kit taking another 2 days to arrive and then 3 days to get my results, I'm actually due out of isolation today anyway.
