If you've booked the test then read the guidance info they've sent you.

Depends why you're getting the test but with no symptoms I'm guessing a trial or a close contact in which case there is no isolating now (if double vaxxed)

Why the PCR without symptoms? If you need one because you have a positive LFT, then yes you need to isolate. If it’s because you have been a close contact I don’t think you do (at least in England), but I’d check the instructions you are given.

Close contact

As long as you are double vaxxed - no

YourKidsIf · 30/09/2021 17:41

No

No, but depending on where you work, etc., they may ask you not to attend work until you have the results. In the schools I visit, they don't want people who are pending results on site.

You should isolate until you get the results.

Gizmo98765 · 30/09/2021 23:39

We are in this position both double jabbed teens under 18 have had one jab. Teen DD has just tested positive due to a close contact from school. DH, DS and myself had a PCR tonight and waiting the results. Ds’s was turned round in well under 24 hours. The guidance implies DS can go to school and we could technically go out to work. Phoned 119 twice today. First time I was told we all had to isolate until results were known and DH phoned tonight and were told only DD has to isolate unless the rest of us get a positive result. Surely that can’t be right? Fingers crossed we receive a results test before DH has to leave for work in the morning. I am day off tomorrow and could do with a quiet day.

Check the booking confirmation email. Mine says if you have symptoms you need to self isolate but nothing if you don’t so I assume you’re fine not to.

No and it's crazy! I work in a school and a teacher got her result this morning at 10am ... two days teaching classes of children whilst awaiting the result because she was a close contact. The result was positive! I just can't work out how this is ok!

Gizmo98765 · 01/10/2021 06:06

It isn’t ok @stardust140. I think now they just want to let it rip before winter properly sets in.
