What would happen if they stopped testing?

Imagine no more PCR or lateral flow tests. What do you think would happen if they were stopped tomorrow?

Testing is the only way to avoid another lockdown while the NHS is like this. Yes Covid is mild for many with vague symptoms, but the hospitals are full and we're coming into winter. Maybe could slow down testing in spring and see how we go. With hospitals already at breaking point we still need to try and control spread so it's either lockdowns/restrictions or testing.
