Lateral flow test faint positive after half an hour

I did a test which I thought was negative. However just looked again and I can see a faint line indicating it’s positive. I think this only showed up after half an hour though so does it still count? Can’t retest as I’ve not got any more left.

No it doesn't count after the half hour.

I thought the result at 30mins was the accurate one, you can’t say it’s negative until it’s still clear at 30mins. Get a PCR tomorrow

it doesn't count. But my daughter did get a faint line after the timeframe on a lf just before she had a positive pcr.

The symptoms started properly the next day.

Happened to me. PCR was negative.
I had symptoms though and so needed to go for the PCR anyway.

I'm awful at binning these things and they often sit somewhere for ages. I've never had one that has changed after 30 mins so worth getting a test. (I've been doing them twice weekly since January so got through a lot too)

CloseYourEyesAndSee · 28/09/2021 20:42

How much after half an hour? You're meant to leave it half an hour aren't you?

AubergineParmigiana · 28/09/2021 21:43

Officially it's read at 30 mins. BUT I know lots of people who had a line after 30 mins, all of whom then went on to test positive

covidques · 28/09/2021 21:52

Thanks everyone. I’ve booked a pcr for tomorrow to be on the safe side.

@covidques let us know how you get on!

I've had faint ones here after half an hour. Negative PCR and no symptoms.
