Anyone's symptoms start as lethargy, headaches, tiredness

And just not feeling 'right'?

I'm awaiting test results. The last contact I had with the positive case was over a week ago and I did test negative at the start of the week.

I feel like utter shit today. My head feels like it weighs about 2 stones, been getting awful pains in it like someone is squeezing a tight band around it. Have no energy and can't stop yawning.

No temperature, cough or loss of taste/smell. No cold symptoms. Makes me feel like it's unlikely to be covid?

Or am I just kidding myself? 😩

They were my daughters symptoms in July - delta variant.

Willow231 · 26/09/2021 18:54

Thank you woodlands. Do you mind me asking if your dd had any of the 'classic' symptoms? Or did she go on to have them later? As I have none of them I don't feel like it is covid. Hope I'm right!

Anyone else?

Yes started with awful sinus type headache and felt hungover, exhausted and breathless.
Realised it was covid when stuff started tasting/smelling weird and making me feel nauseous.

Didn’t ever really have a fever aside from night sweats but developed a very tickly cough for a couple of days later on. Headache and body aches was the worst. And painful muscle spasms.

Hope you feel better soon. I drank lots of hot squash which really helped my head for some reason.

Willow231 · 26/09/2021 19:23

Thanks Pammie, sorry to hear you had it. See I don't have the loss of taste and smell at all. In fact, I just enjoyed a lovely domino's for dinner! Still have a hearty appetite! It's the only thing that's making me feel 'safe' 🙈

OP posts:
Willow231 · 26/09/2021 19:24

Do have the nausea though! Even though it's not putting me off food.

I think fatigue can be a first symptom. Generally not feeling right - spaced out etc. These were my first symptoms back in March 2020 and I'm getting the terrible fatigue again now. Haven't had a positive test yet but fatigue for 1-2 days and just starting to get a sore throat and feel hot/cold. Really hoping its not COVID again as I had long covid for over a year. Vaccine helped with that.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 26/09/2021 19:26

Is that not called adolescence? Wink

Acerola · 26/09/2021 19:27

DS had a horrendous headache on Friday and then got a slight temp in the evening. His headache is still there; he said his head feels 'wavy' he's feeling very lethargic as generally rough. He for a positive result through this morning

MySaladDaysAreGone · 26/09/2021 19:28

Yep, sounds like me. 3 lateral flow positives and booked in for PCR tomorrow. Kids both have it. Feel tired and spaced out like the beginning of something, lower back and head aches.

Acerola · 26/09/2021 19:29

And sorry to say this but his appetite is fine. Sad

PermanentTemporary · 26/09/2021 19:31

Sounds pretty much like my symptoms first time round (April 2020 so presumably not delta). Second time was runny nose, sore throat rapidly followed by fatigue nausea and headache.

I'd be prepared for a positive tbh. Hope not though.

AlanisMorningShed · 26/09/2021 19:33

Yes, I got those symptoms at first. I can remember saying to DH that I felt off it and about 90yrs old.

It wasn't til a few days later that I lost my taste and smell and developed typical Covid symptoms.

Willow231 · 26/09/2021 19:42

Oh no, these comments are not what I wanted to hear 😂🙈

I have felt spaced out since I woke up tbh, I could hardly lift my head earlier and had to go back to bed this afternoon for an hour. When I woke up I felt no better.

The 'wavy' feeling that a PP's ds described is exactly how I would describe the way my head feels too 😩 heavy, wavy and constricted!

Can it take well over a week to contract covid? As I was tested at the start of the week and was negative. Haven't been in contact with the positive contact since before last weekend.

Sorry to everyone who has suffered and had family members suffer 💐

This is me I’ve had a pcr done today. I’ve had constant headaches, feel warm, nausea and blocked nose. Hoping it’s not covid as I go away in 9 days time 😢😢

dearfanny · 26/09/2021 20:02

I feel the same. Tired, lethargic. Had a runny nose but thats gone. Can taste and smell fine.

Is it just a cold virus though?

Willow231 · 26/09/2021 20:03

Fingers crossed for us both Charlotte 🤞🤞 the waiting part is horrible isn't it.

Willow231 · 26/09/2021 20:04

I hope so Dear! Did you have a test done?

Willow231 · 26/09/2021 20:57

Just started to notice that my neck and shoulders are beginning to ache too 😭

OrangeBananaFish · 26/09/2021 21:23

Sorry, but tiredness and headache were my first symptoms on the Sunday. Took a lateral flow test early hours Monday which was positive. Booked PCR for the same day. Came back positive. Loss of smell/taste arrived on Wednesday. No cough and no temp though. For the first two days I just felt so tired and flu-ey.

This was in July.

CharlotteRose90 · 26/09/2021 21:37

@Willow231

Fingers crossed for us both Charlotte 🤞🤞 the waiting part is horrible isn't it.
I’ve done 2 laterals that both said negative so fingers crossed. I woke up this morning and honestly nearly cried I feel shocking. I can still taste which is good. Not tried to smell though,
Weseylady · 26/09/2021 22:04

I had exactly those

Acerola · 26/09/2021 22:09

Wow just read my post back and it's horrendous. I really should be more careful with reading what I have written before pressing post

UpintNorth · 26/09/2021 22:20

My first two days were spacey, tired, and very mild
sore throat / dry throat, negative LFTs throughout, went for PCR end day 2 to rule out Covid - it was positive.

Then a really horrible, constricting, crushing headache and fatigue on days 3-5. Sorry. Take good care, now feel on the mend after a ton of bed rest, water, paracetamol and tea.

UpintNorth · 26/09/2021 22:21

Forgot to say taste and smell not affected until day 5 here.
