So my oldest son had covid at the start of the school holidays, confirmed by PCR, he was ill for a couple of days but quickly recovered all good, and neither myself or dh tested positive
Last week my son was comaining of a sore throat, cold like symptoms he testex negative on a LFT i cant get him to do a pCR as it hasent been 90 days since he had covid
My youngest was sent home from school on Thursday with similar symptoms, hes at a special school and some children are very medically vulnerable so they wanted a negatjve PCR which hes had
I now have the same symptons as both boys im testing negative on LFT, s surely we cant have two different virus, s in the house?

Hi OP, I woke up on Tuesday with a scratchy sore throat, cough, headache and generally feeling shattered. I suspected a cold but did an LFT which was negative. I felt a bit uneasy so also went to a walk in test centre for a PCR. Result came back on Wednesday as negative. Since then I’ve been treating this as the nasty cold virus that is doing the rounds. I did another PCR test on Friday - this is a routine weekly test that I do for my job. I got my result last night and I’m positive! There is such a fine line between the symptoms of the cold virus and the delta variant. It’s so confusing!
