Will I catch covid? Positive DP and potential symptoms

Both did LFT Saturday before a party - negative.
Sunday night - did the usual pre work LFT and he showed a strong positive twice. Only felt snotty then.
Both did PCR Monday, his positive and mine negative.

We have slept in separate beds but not isolated from each other as felt I would have been exposed before he tested positive.

I've had negative LFT each day. However have had diarrhea, nausea, lack of appetite and some shivering today. Is it worth booking a PCR? I don't know if it's exhaustion or stress that's coming out!

Also what are the chances of me getting it? Would it have come out by now?

Thanks 🙂

DS didn't test positive until 6 days after me so yes you could have caught it. Given that you're feeling unwell today I'd book another PCR just to be sure.

AFuturisticalSound · 23/09/2021 20:07

There's no way to quantify the chances but it's by no means certain that you will catch it, all you can do is hope unfortunately

CoopsMalloops · 23/09/2021 20:21

I would. I tested + (with symptoms) 5 days after my DD did.

AtLeastPretendToCare · 23/09/2021 20:22

I would get a PCR.

YukoandHiro · 23/09/2021 20:23

If you're shivery I would book another Pcr. How is your DH now?

santabetterwashhishands · 23/09/2021 20:24

My little girls LFT were all negative but she tested positive with a PCR test.

middleager · 23/09/2021 20:33

We got PCRs after DS1 tested positive, even though DH and DS2 had no symptoms. They were negative, I was positive.

I absolutely think you need to do a PCR given that DP is positive and you have symptoms.

TheVolturi · 23/09/2021 20:35

Dh was poorly for three days before he got his positive. I tested positive and felt fine, and didn't feel unwell until the day after (when it hit me like a tonne of bricks)

middleager · 23/09/2021 20:35

I'm also the same timeline as your DP and as of yesterday DS2 and DH were still negative on PCR.

When DS2 had Covid last year, none of us caught it.

He isn't great. He's been weak with a fever but no coughing or loss of taste or smell. I'll book another pcr for tomorrow. My work are adamant I should be in unless I get any symptoms so feel awful that I could potentially be infecting 60 children plus staff 😫
