Care home workers under 50 and boosters

Have any Care Home workers on here who are under 50 been able to book their boosters yet? I'm the only staff member under 50, six months post vaccine and the only one who has not been able to book for the booster despite us all getting vaccinated on the same days. It keeps saying I'm not eligible.

We were originally vaccinated through the local hospital but that is no longer a vaccination centre and we've been told that locally our GPs are taking control of healthcare workers jabs. My GP doesn't know my occupation although I am registered as a carer on their system and am always invited for a flu jab.

I'm just wondering if us younger carers are being left until later?

Sorry I mean I'm registered as a carer for a family member with GP, they don't know I work in a care home or that my role is especially high risk due to my designation and the kind of residents I'm key worker for.

I would assume you will get picked up on a care home visit. If not GP practices or pharmacies are your best bet.

GPs officially start on 25 September, sooner with agreement. Pharmacies will be able to do you with ID, probably as a walk-in. Grab a jab will have details.

The national booking system wouldn’t automatically recognise your status as a care home worker. They would have to put self declaration option back on.

Thanks. The NHS Trust Vaccine lead confirmed we will definitely not be getting vaccinated in the home by the care home team. The care home team aren't doing vaccines for residents or staff locally this time. Our residents are getting done at their GPs at the end of the month. All the other staff have managed to book via the booking system and had a choice of local vaccine centres and pharmacies. I might just try turning up at one of the grab a jabs at the end of a day with my employment documents and pass and hope they'll let me have one.
