Is the 10 day isolation advice flexible?

Work colleague tested positive on Thursday.
She’s says test and trace told her she could return to work on Monday, so 4 days later, as long as she’s testing negative by then.
She explained her ‘hayfever’ symptoms started several days beforehand so is taking her 10 days from that point!

Is this right? I thought it was 10 days isolation after positive test?

Do the rest of the staff know she had covid ?

Her test prior to the PCR was neg she booked a PCR as she thought she had a cold coming and had been out and about a lot.

I’m sure how much the others know and don’t want to start malicious gossip about her, but I’ll also feel responsibility if others catch it.
I’ve spoken to her tonight. She’s convinced t&t said it’s fine for her to go back if she’s testing neg.

I don’t think I can do much else without overstepping the mark.

I could talk to my boss, but I’m sure if she’s following official advice he can’t do much and I shouldn’t stick my oar in.

It just feels wrong, illogical and is making me quite uncomfortable for the others.

So we reckon she told track and trace she had symptoms 6 days prior to testing. But then didn’t test or isolate for that period. You can’t have it both ways.

Your boss has a duty of care to his staff and customers and will also be stuffed if she infects the whole workplace.

I had a team member who misinterpreted track and trace (by one day) I was able to show her how she had got her dates wrong and agree a later return to work.
