DD just started senior school. Yesterday 3 girls were off in her form. All have confirmed COVID. She sat next to 2 of them in the last week. I’ve not been informed. Is this the norm now? Will lateral flow daily from now. on.

Three out of five of us in our house are positive and very unwell at the moment. School still wants the others to go in. Bonkers.

The ONS are reporting a drop in cases too

Not in secondary kids. Infections are increasing.

I meant overall. Which suggests the government are not ‘hiding cases’ as was implied upthread. A lack of PCR slots won’t impact the ONS survey results. I don’t think anyone’s surprised that there will be more cases in unvaccinated individuals than vaccinated are they? And the biggest group of unvaccinated people is children? That’s not going to shock anyone.

If the JCVI had got their act together, the 12+ could have been offered at least their first jab before term started. That have helped reduce disruption and protect teens’ health.
