I’ll start. No Head lice.
Just discovered an infestation last night. Bloody hell they have been back only just over a week!

Absolutely nothing apart from maybe table service in the pub when I watched the Euros!

tanqueray10 · 10/09/2021 12:46

Definitely staggered start/finish times at school! Made the school run almost enjoyable

ILookAtTheFloor · 10/09/2021 13:05

Nothing.

Twas complete shit.

emmathedilemma · 10/09/2021 13:09

Oh jeez, swimming. I haven’t been since we stopped having to pre book so you could see how busy it was (or wasn’t) and now we’re back to fewer and narrower lanes which means it’ll be a free for all in the other half of the pool!
Going to the pub was great, no jostling at the bar to order and guaranteed a seat! I’m old and appreciate such things ;)

beguilingeyes · 10/09/2021 13:14

Going into shops and being able to browse without shop assistants hassling you every five minutes.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 10/09/2021 15:52

No hugging, breakfast at Premier Inns cooked fresh for you rather than the buffet.

BogRollBOGOF · 10/09/2021 16:11

The background noise turned down in pubs. Pretty crap as a Covid measure, but it was good being able to have a conversation and not being driven crazy by excessive music blasting out over your head.

It's good that normality is creeping back into everything else though.

TwoLeftElbows · 10/09/2021 16:23

Kids wearing PE kit all day on PE days. So much easier for them and less lost kit.

Easy for me to say though, I don't have to teach 30 of them straight after their PE lesson!

Jaffacakeinmypocket · 10/09/2021 16:26

@Aroundtheworldin80moves

Staggered school drop offs. Now its back to parking carnage and playground bottlenecks.
Exactly this! 😬
Plumtree391 · 10/09/2021 16:27

Not having to see people was lovely.

MargaretThursday · 10/09/2021 16:39

Traffic.

I sing every morning "bring back my lockdown traffic". :D

ifonly4 · 10/09/2021 16:52

Not having to worry if I'd just eaten garlic or onion!

IrisLilyRose · 10/09/2021 16:55

No colds for the duration.
The silence of no traffic but hearing lots of birdsong.

Delatron · 10/09/2021 16:55

Parents evening and that was it really.

Maybe empty trains. On a very busy one now to London.

NCBlossom · 10/09/2021 16:55

Public transport is again a nightmare.

I hadn’t realised how much I was enjoying that feeling of calm, quiet and space when I sat on the bus yesterday at 9am and twenty chatty loud singing young women on a language course completely surrounded me…

Sigh… the days of public transport calm are well and truly over.

Delatron · 10/09/2021 16:56

No colds was good. But I worry for this winter with the lack of exposure and immunity.

IrisLilyRose · 10/09/2021 16:56

True.

NCBlossom · 10/09/2021 16:59

Actually loads and loads I loved about social distancing.

No one hassling me and the dog when out walking. (It is never in my experience a tall handsome stranger, it is always a strange over friendly middle aged man)

Hearing the birds sing.

Lower expectations all around. No parties to feel bad that I can’t go to. No friends telling me how rushed and busy they were and so couldn’t fit me in.

In fact lots of friends suddenly started to appreciate me again and do lots of FaceTime calls. Because their busy whirl of social living collapsed and they remembered the closer connections again.

londonmummy1966 · 10/09/2021 17:06

Choir practice - great not being squashed together in a too small room.

YY to parents' evenings - am so glad school are keeping this on.

TheDogsMother · 10/09/2021 17:26

Table service in pubs, drive in movies, lack of air traffic overhead, time for my new found jigsaw habit.

MadMadMadamMim · 10/09/2021 17:47

It was less people-y everywhere. I don't like people-y places.

coldseacoldears · 10/09/2021 18:23

@herecomesthsun

Parents evening on line was good
Exactly this. I hope they carry it on. Best for everyone as teachers could do it from home and there was no running over as it just cut you off. Brilliant.
ImInACage · 10/09/2021 18:40

Ours managed to catch nits during lockdown, when only key worker children were in and they were apparently kept at a good distance from each other. Confused I miss not having people dropping round whenever they feel like it and feeling like I can't slob out in pjs in case they show up unannounced. I also miss the short, quiet commute. It's back to being long and busy Sad

HandlebarLadyTash · 10/09/2021 18:42

Christmas week, no socialising, no travelling no stress, little cooking, fabulous restful week. I secretly want a xmas lockdown.

KatieKryptonite · 10/09/2021 18:45

Being able to mouth what I really think behind my mask at work.
