Covid and hair loss

Just looking for other people's experiences post Covid!
I had Covid back in May (I wasn't vaccinated), very mildly - sore throat, a little headache but that was it. However since June my hair has been falling out a lot more than usual. I've been in the menopause for 5 years so thought it might be that, but I'm pretty sure now it is a side effect of Covid - looking on the internet it seems women are more affected than men by this. Every time I wash my hair there is a combful. No bald patches thankfully, the loss is equally spread over my head, but even so my hair looks awful.
Has anyone else noticed a heavier than normal hair loss post infection?

Telogen effluvium?
I had it following a nasty illness as a teenager (in hindsight possibly Lyme as I was in America when it happened), but it all grew back in the end!

Yes I'm sure it is telogen effluvium. Will hopefully be back to normal in November!

Yes I had this 3 months after covid. Very distressing, I probably lost about 1/3 of my ponytail thickness. It only lasted for a few weeks , fingers crossed it slows for you soon.

@Jellifer my hair loss has been ongoing for a couple of months at least. I hope it stops soon too! Glad yours didn't last too long. My ponytail is pathetic too!
