A pervading headache seems to be common.
On the gov website ,symptoms are still presented as
A cough
Temp
Most people I know with covid do not have the ' official' symptoms.. and a few have mistaken their headache as a head cold , and therfore not isolated.. think more coverage on this may be needed..

Totally agree that symptoms need to be updated. I think all colds you should LFT for…

I had a headache and cold - my LFT went positive within 30 seconds…

I know half a dozen people who've tested positive in the last couple of weeks and all of them had severe headaches, runny nose and sneezing, none had temperature or cough. (They we're all picked up through routine testing at work).

caughtinanet · 07/09/2021 19:58

More coverage? It's on every blooming covid thread on here Grin

I'm assuming from that that it's pretty widely known.

illuyankas · 07/09/2021 20:03

I totally agree. It's really clear that symptom for Delta is like a regular cold, and ZOE published it weeks, months(?) ago.

I really don't know why it's not published massively, unless the gov want to spread it to get the herd immunity by natural infection since they can't convince anti- vaxxers.

Latest news from Denmark makes it clear that the vaccine works to end the spread and end the restriction.

But they should update the website and change the need for a test? It’s wrong at the moment so you are forced to lie to get a PCR

MooPointCowsOpinion · 07/09/2021 20:06

I tested positive yesterday and I have such an awful headache, but not the awful cough I had last year. Delta is different for sure! But could it be the vaccine making the symptoms different?

LegendaryReady · 07/09/2021 20:24

I currently have the headache from hell, 48 hours + now and a very sore throat and awful painful lower back. So no reason to isolate or to have a PCR officially.

I haven't been to work, I've "wfh" but I can't really do my full job at home. I really don't know what to do for the best.

I think boss is hoping I'll feel better by morning and go in, but if it is Covid, feeling better doesn't matter. I'd like to go in if I can. I don't know.

Fairweatherahead · 07/09/2021 20:42

LegendaryReady could you message your boss re this and ask.for time to.get lft as they arrive quickly ?

LegendaryReady · 07/09/2021 20:46

I've done a LFT, we test regularly, so it probably is OK. Tbh my main concern is going to work with symptoms that will make everyone around me nervous.

Although if this headache doesn't shift I might not actually be well enough. It's not like an ordinary headache.

Angrymum22 · 07/09/2021 20:51

I tested positive e on Sunday and the overwhelming symptom was headache mainly sinus and across the forehead. Felt like a furnace in my sinuses and behind my eyes. Paracetamol were not effective but big dose of ibuprofen relieved pain for a while.
Fever subsided yesterday morning and I’ve been feeling better since then.
Sense of taste and smell have disappeared again. Just hope it doesn’t last as long as the last time.

JS87 · 07/09/2021 20:51

For those of us who suffer regular migraines we definitely don’t want to have a pcr every time we get a headache! If they update the symptom list I think it’s going to have to be at least 2 or 3 of ..... synptoms

illuyankas · 07/09/2021 21:11

Having just headache isn't direct indicative of any viral infection, for sure. Most people do experience headaches even though we are not regular suffer of migraines?

And I am sure if you suffer from headaches regularly, you would be able to tell the difference?

I really don't get your point, JS87. Same for allergy suffers. I suffer from allergy, as well as my dc. I can easily tell the difference, for sneezing or runny nose, ime.

I suffer with migraines and I get a bit panic-struck wondering if I should test or not every time I get one 😕
Lupinhere37 · 07/09/2021 22:41

@LegendaryReady sorry to hear you’re feeling poorly.
Negative LFT, persistent headache, sore throat and back pain are how several of my colleagues presented. The ended up positive on a PCR. I should think you need a PCR.
Hope you feel well soon.
