2 negative covid tests but still feel crap. Now what

Had my bloods checked already, GP thinks Vit D is a bit high so he's prescribed me some tablets for that.

But I feel awful, pounding headache that won't go away and I'm shattered all the time and can't taste re or smell anything. Is there a test for long covid? I'm supposed to be working in the office twice this week but I honestly don't feel like I can manage it.

2 negative PCRs in all likelihood rules out Covid within the last 90days, you could have an antibody test but not sure if that would tell you anything useful.

All the same illnesses that have always existed still exist though so you could have a different virus, or be deficient in some other vitamin/mineral or have thyroid issues.

Back to the GP for ongoing investigation would be my suggestion and if you are too unwell to work then your only option would be sick leave or taking annual leave.

I hope the Gp is able to help or at least get you on the road to more diagnostics

There are loads of other illnesses doing the rounds but covid is extremely unusual in the loss of sense of smell & taste. It was bizarre. Just completely gone. Not bunged up nose or anything.

If yours has genuinely completely gone, that’s odd & not suggestive of a common virus. I have a friend with a complete loss of taste following a head injury.. given your severe headache, I would press the GP on this one. It’s not a symptom I’d ignore if you can’t taste anything at all.

The only thing I've been able to taste today was a nectarine so I seem to still have some sweet taste buds but nothing else.

Likely you have a different viral infection.... you know the ones that made us all feel unwell before COVID appeared! People were sick with colds/flus before COVID!

Id do another pcr. Theres been a few threads here similar yo yours where the poster gets a positive well after becoming ill.
