Just that really, can you just turn up at a walk in centre for your second dose?

Yes - I had mine on Friday (pre booked ) and people were just walking in for their vax no booking ahead

HelloMissus · 29/08/2021 11:49

Can I ask (for my DD) how strict they are on the 8 week gap?
Is it possible to get the second one a bit sooner?

Coffee4Queen · 29/08/2021 11:49

Yes @TulipVictory if you it’s been 8 weeks since your first go the NHS site and find walk-in centres in your area.

dancingthroughthedark · 29/08/2021 11:51

Both my young adult DS did as soon as tbey got to 8 weeks after the first one . The centres doing them and which jabs were on our local Facebook page

CorrBlimeyGG · 29/08/2021 11:57

You need to check the rules for your centre. Our local one only has Pfizer and is for first dose only, but the larger centres seem to be for either dose, as long as they've got the right stock.

Barwell76 · 29/08/2021 12:44

If you look on the NHS grab a jab website is says which jab each venue is doing and whether first/second dose or both.

TakeYourFinalPosition · 29/08/2021 12:45

@HelloMissus It really depends where you are. A friend of mine tried to get hers at six weeks last week and was told it was too soon, but some places were quite lax first off.

Wellbythebloodyhell · 29/08/2021 12:50

Depends on the vaccine sites, some of my local ones off walk in for both 1st and 2nd (strictly after 8 weeks though) and some only offer walk in for 1st doses

User8765461 · 29/08/2021 13:25

Yes! it is now walk-ins open for 16-17 first dose and second dose for anyone 8 weeks since first dose

Everyone else to arrange via GP

whiteonesugar · 29/08/2021 13:32

Yes at our local one. I had an appointment for mine but was seen 50 minutes later because of walk ins. Silly really, Apparently no point having an appt!!

Cookerhood · 29/08/2021 13:47

Yes, I work at a walk in clinic but we won't do anyone under 8 weeks (we used to).
