Worried about catching covid again

Bubbublish · 29/08/2021 00:37

I'm double jabbed but was seriously ill in hospital after catching covid. No underlying health conditions.

Whilst in hospital I was given a drug Tocilizumab which had knocked out my immune system for about 3 months.

I'm so nervous of catching covid again (or any other bug).

Trying to find some info on natural immunity but not sure if the Tocilizumab cancels out any natural immunity I may have.

Anyone in a similar position?

My DH was in hospital with covid in march. He was also given an arthritis drug as part of a trial, although not the same one as you. He hasn't had any illnesses since.

I'm not sure why it's being allowed to continue?

It's insulting to those of us that have had people very ill in hospital with covid.

OliveTree75 · 29/08/2021 11:13

I also reported the OP who appeared on another thread and was told they wouldn't discuss it with me 🤷

Biologics, depending on which one, turn off certain parts of the immune system. They don't decimate it making you vulnerable to everything going. I'm on one and apart from Covid, I don't really get unwell. So there's no need to be paralysed with fear like someone going through chemo would need to be.

I really hope it isn't made up. My DH was very poorly in march and I found MN a great source of comfort and support. To exploite that is very unfair.

It is very mean. I have also found this board a great source of support as well when my DH was hospitalised with covid. He certainly wasn't capable of writing huge paragraphs about musicals. OP even had posters lighting bloody candles.

MN need to monitor this board more. There is a lot of misinformation and unnecessary scaring and doom mongering

Bubbublish · 29/08/2021 11:25

@RenegadePasta

Give it a rest now!

I'd be very interested to see my inconsistencies

Obviously, there are none because everything is true but if you're happy making up stories then I feel very sorry for you

Boy who cried wolf? If that's true OP, be careful you don't jinx yourself.

Why is @RenegadaPasta's posts being deleted?

This site is shameful at times.
