Covid risk is predominantly linked to age, with risk literally increasing exponentially. A few times over the past 18 months, someone, say an obese 30 yo woman with diabetes worried that Covid would be a death sentence, would be informed on these threads that they were no more at risk than a healthy 45 year old male.
As for children, the number of deaths has been proportionally tiny compared to the general population. This seems to imply that the risk, apart from perhaps the most acutely CEV is actually very low indeed, and really any not higher than a range of other infections that we largely take for granted.
Of course no parent of a CEV child wants to increase their risk, but in order to know how best to manage this as a society, we need understand the actual risks.
