Anyone else's whole family positive?

So myself, DH, and both ds's are covid positive 😳 I'm OK, as are the children but my husband is really unwell, despite having had both jabs and being an athlete. Anybody else in the same boat? Any hints and tips on how not to kill each other or things we can do together all gratefully received!

This has been us for the last two weeks. You have my sympathy! We have all caught it within a few days of each other so we were all isolating before the rules changed and because of how each of us tested positive have been in for it seems like forever. No real advice but we have done lots of baking and the kids have had far too much screen time!

I wish.... In the 25 years we've been together I've never seen him this ill. So far, I don't seem to be suffering too much which of course means all childcare, housework etc falls on me! Although I'm grateful not to be suffering too badly.

Just me (single parent) and one DS, both positive although I'm basically out of it now and technically my last day of isolation is today. DS tested positive 6 days after me which means I have to isolate with him for a further 6 days as at 8yo he can't stay home alone.

To be completely honest I've just let DS have as much screen time as he wants. We've baked and played football in the garden as we haven't felt too unwell.

Sorry you are going through this. it really does seem like a lottery as to how bad some people suffer with it. At least he's double vaccinated but any doubts at all ring 111 for advice. Let the kids have as much screen time, forget about house work, order take out if you can and look after yourself too. xxx

He needs to rest, rest more and drink plenty. And keep an eye on his blood o2 levels. You need to take it pretty easy too. A good week for binge-watching and catching up on your reading. Or digging out the jigsaws and board games.

If the kids are older than 7 get them to take over the cooking.

I’ve been pottering in the garden watching the birds and trying to get some sun. Fresh air helps. Been playing board games and depending on your kids’ ages I used to use Imagination Tree site for craft/science ideas.
Ordered some fun educational games from Learning Resources.co.uk
I’ve also set my DD a task of learning to tie her shoelaces and tell the time and she will get a prize she really wants

Fiftysixthnamechange · 25/08/2021 08:43

Ordered some new board games that should arrive today along with an online shop, won't be able to spend much time as its pouring down!

Just the 2 of us, kids escaped without luckily. Hope your husband is feeling better soon, we felt pretty rough initially but def feeling better now but done little as so tired and I’ve been really irritated by everything too

Twilightstarbright · 25/08/2021 08:50

This is my fear, I’m currently positive but DH and DS are negative. How old are your children?

We had to isolate for two weeks last year and found moving rooms helped, just to have a change of scene. I also had different toys in different rooms which gave DS a bit of novelty.

We were exactly the same - 5 of us all caught it. We were on holiday and had to come home so I think the 6 hours shut in the car together was the perfect opportunity for it to spread!
