Hiya all, hope all ok.
I've had Covid a week now and my symptoms don't seem to be budging.. aches, chest pain, sore face and mouth, coughing and I can't smell or taste anything.
How long would you say it takes to feel normal again ?
Sorry to post just a little anxious about it all x

18 months and counting here but for most people 3-6 weeks.

I had a "bad cold" for the first week.

Really quite poorly for the second week. Like the worst hangover I've ever had but it lasted a week. Incredible headache and nausea that just went on and on. Plus aching limbs.

In the third week I started to feel better and went back to work, but it was another three weeks or so before I felt fully recovered and I had a lingering backache, which I suspect was related, for about 6 weeks.

Apart from my sense of taste and smell which are still faulty 8 months later, I felt back to normal after about 2 months.

I felt very unwell - nauseous, coughing, tired, etc for about a week. Then a bit better but still too unwell to work for another 2-3 weeks - I could potter around the house and cook etc, but needed rest breaks several times a day. I then was back at work for a month but needed to rest when I finished, we were in lockdown but even if we hadn't been I wouldn't have been going anywhere outside of work as I felt too fatigued.

I caught covid 3 weeks ago, I was 26 weeks pregnant then and unvaccinated. I felt pretty rubbish for around a week, (headaches and tiredness) and then it turned into feeling like a sinus infection, head felt like it could explode, ear ache, face sore and upper jaw tender. That all eased after just over a week and I feel totally normal now.

Taste and smell coming back slowly, it’s not a linear process though, yesterday I could smell Rosemary for the first time since losing my smell, today I can’t smell that at all, but I can smell other things.

If you’re able to, I would recommend not going back to work until you feel like you can manage. My husband and I run our own business so it was quite a tricky few weeks but we found everyone was very understanding.

Hope you feel better soon and take care of yourself

I had covid a few weeks ago and symptoms including loss of taste and smell cleared completely after five days. I am double jabbed so wonder if that helped!

Aw thanks for your replies.. I'm on day 10 and I'm completely exhausted, you really don't know until you've been through it do you?
I've been sick with mine and not being able to relax.. sinuses playing up and lawful pain in back of my mouth.. headaches and body aches.
I don't wanna jinx it but hoping the worst is over.
Even harder when we can't smell or taste the things that sometimes make the bad days good !
It's awful and I feel for anyone who is seriously poorly with it xx take care everyone
