Rash - sun? Allergy? Prickly heat? Covid?!

Am away in the UK. It's been warm and sunny on most days but not hot (19-21 degrees max).

Noticed yesterday when I was wearing shorts that they were sore at the knee. Driving back from the beach this afternoon (around 18 degrees, sunny, breezy so not very intense heat) and feel the most intense itching/heat on my knee. Notice when we get back I have a rash starting on both knees.

It's insanely itchy and has spread down the shins on both legs. Also a bit on my upper chest/neck area and inside elbows. But worst on knees and front of legs.

I've taken a LTF which was negative. But it just seems a bit odd that it seemingly came out of nowhere and it's not that hot outside.

I have read all the literature about rash being common with Covid.

Given I've been in the sun, albeit not that strong, should I just assume it's due to that? Or should I get a test?!

I would probably just take an antihistamine

Looks like prickly heat

Your rash looks very familiar to me. In the last few years I have had this any time I’ve been in the sun too long (with or without cream). Came on after I burnt in the sun on holiday one year, and now reappears at the start of every holiday/sunny period when I have been sunbathing.

Originally diagnosed with Prickly Heat, the doc now says I have Polymorphic Light Eruption. Control with Antihistamine, cooling gel/spray and covering affected area.
