DS17 recovering from covid - when will he be able to have the jab?

I have googled but haven’t found an answer.

DS17 (along with half of his year group) had Covid last month. He was quite poorly with it and still has fatigue, some aches, and no taste/smell.

I saw the announcement yesterday that 16 and 17 year olds will soon be offered the vaccine.

Is there a time period that you have to wait after having covid and before having the jab do you know?

I was also wondering whether his GP will have been automatically notified of his positive PCR or if I am meant to do that.

Thank you

It’s on the GP Record. You can actually see for yourself if you download the NHS app (not the covid one). He’ll need that for the vaccines anyway.

It's 4 weeks. Dh was due his first vaccine at the same time as catching Covid, so had to wait a month.

Four weeks from positive test to have the vaccine.

Thank you.

I think the stress and sleep deprivation must have got to me as I did try and google.

Thanks again for replying.

all test, negative or positive are sent to your gp.
