Should I have been contacted by track and trace?

I saw my friend and her child Ben on day 1. Several hours spent together inside and out, several people were cuddling Ben.

On day 2 Ben develops a cough and is taken for PCR.

Day 3 Ben receives a positive Covid test result.

Day 4 my friend speaks to T&T. T&T aren't interested in contacts from day 1, only before then, so according to the Gov website we do not need to self isolate because they've deemed us not to be close contacts.

Is this right?

No it’s not right T&T should be very much interested in people he has been in contact with 2 days before his symptoms started.
So either your friend made a mistake or T&T did.
Get her to call 119 and get you added as his contact - she will need the positive account ID

You should definitely isolate and complain. I'm a former contact tracer. The person sounds badly trained or confused. Unless your friend fibbed. I've known that happen.

Does anyone know how I can get in contact with T&T myself?

I can't see that my friend would have fibbed, she has nothing to gain by not handing my details over.

I rang them for advice. I'm sure I just rung 119. It's press 1 for blah blah, I pressed the option for advice re self isolation.
