Theatre?

Supposed to be taking DC to London for a trip to the theatre later this week. When I booked it a couple of months ago I’d been vaccinated, numbers were dropping in the right direction and I assumed that some restrictions would still be in place ie masks, less capacity etc. Now I’m going right off the idea. Numbers now sky high with Delta variant, the place will be full capacity, there will be no ventilation, few wearing masks (judging by everywhere else), singing etc.

I’m double jabbed but not my DC (asthma sufferers). Surely the theatre is the worst place to pick up Covid?!

I know we need to get back to normal at some point but now it’s almost here I don’t think I’m ready. Argh! Help!!

@SecondCityShark think they’ve scrapped social distancing in theatres now

For anyone worried about the theatre, there are lots of open air theatre productions at the moment. Weather permitting (it is supposed to be improving) might be a nice option.

I’ve been three times in the last fortnight. None of them were socially distanced, all were full. Roughly half the audience wore masks, as was I, but all the venues were serving refreshments and people took their masks off to eat and drink. Only one of the venues asked for evidence of Covid status.

For me personally in my circumstances it was a risk I was happy to take - but other people might reasonably disagree.

I went to the west end a fortnight ago. Few people wore masks after curtain up. Full theatre.

I didn't get covid, and I had a brilliant normal night.

I'm also asthmatic.
