Anybody done one of the Roche antibody tests?

I just did one and the blood didn’t mix with the stuff that was already in the test tube. It said to invert the tube several times so I assumed it would mix. The diagram shows a tube full of blood, not a tube with a layer of blood on top of a layer of what was already in the tube. Anyone knowledgeable? TIA.

I had the same problem. I assumed it would come back inconclusive but instead I just got a negative result. My blood went like treacle in the tube and I couldn’t even get it to run down the sides of the tube that were above the level of the stuff inside - it just say on top of it like a blob.

Mine set solid, but the blood and the other stuff was not mixed together. I haven’t had a result back yet, so I’m not sure whether it worked or not.

My blood stayed runny but just sat on top of the solid stuff in the tube. Ah well I’ve sent it off so we’ll see. It’s the antibody tracker and I’m double jabbed so I hope it’s not negative!

Both mine and my husbands did the same. We both received a positive result so it can’t have mattered!

I’ve done a lot of capillary home tests (inc the Roche antibody) and that clear/yellow stuff at the bottom doesn’t really mix in, in my experience. I’ve only ever had one fail, I was sent a free one to redo.

I gave it quite a firm shake and something moved. Sent it back and got a -ve result the next day so hopefully what I did was correct.

I do antibody testing as part of a research study and have done a few now. The blood doesn’t really mix with the clear substance and I have always had a result from my tests.

The info sheet I got with the kit said don't worry if the blood tube solidifies and doesn't mix together.

Mine didn’t mix either. I decided it wasn’t actually supposed to. Got results with no issues.

PinkTonic · 03/08/2021 20:09

It was fine, I have the results. Obviously not intended to mix.
