Are colds etc going around?

Dh has a nasty cold with a very slight cough ( due to bunged up) lots of sneezing he did a lvt test and negative and also a pcr yesterday , which has just come back negative , so now we are free to leave isolation.
Is there normal colds etc now circulating as he def has what I would describe as a heavy cold.
So he is practicing good hygenie and he will stay home from work until better as nobody wants a cold as well, and none of us want it as it will mean testing again.
Ds about 10 days ago had a sore throat and a slightt cold , which lasted about 3 days , are there really just colds going around as well?

Yes, my husband has one right now, can't shake it... most probably due to the horrible effect covid had on him last year, long covid symptoms yuk!

My 18-month-old DS has had an almost constant snotty cold since May.

He doesn't go anywhere except the outdoor playground, and he's definitely the person bringing them into the house, so I'm assuming that he's putting his hand onto other children's snot while climbing on the play equipment and then shoving it into his mouth :(

Unlike COVID, colds pass easily from touch...

Covid has not magically made all other viruses simply disappear.

we’ve had loads. The baby even got croup after a pretty bad cold last month. DD still brought every bug going back from school.

Just had two sick kids which passed their colds onto us. Ended up calling GP for youngest as his temp was up for four days, she said they're seeing a huge amount of out of season respiratory illness and viruses since everyone is mixing again. We all had headaches, coughs, sore throats etc etc, lots of negative lateral flows and PCRs!

Think I may now caught of dh as have an awful cough , no other symptoms so not sure if ai have covid or have caught ehat he had , but i don't have runny nose anything at moment, just a cough
Lvt yesterday negative , gone for a pcr today so all self isolating again whilst we await , third time in as many weeks now
Twice I have had to do this in last 1" days and just started new job!!!

There's definitely lots of cold/cough virus going around, we are just recovering from one, all had negative pcrs. Hope you feel better soon.

Negative pcr back and just cough slight sore throat still but better than yesterday .
Finally the others can leave the house , haven't gone back into work though as still coughing a little
