Where do I find this information?

There is plenty of a anecdotal stuff which I do not trust. Are the actual figures published anywhere?

Does this affect your decision to be vaccinated?
You might be better asking what percentage of unvaccinated people who are hospitalised die of covid.
It will go up as the proportion vaccinated in the population goes up.
If 100% of the population were vaccinated then 100% of those in hospital would be vaccinated.

Oh give over. Op, if you don't have a firm handle on the situation after all your posts you never will. You haunt the coronavirus forum and must have taken in something, surely.

Dustyboots · 01/08/2021 23:18

The situation is ever changing @knittingaddict.

Do I really haunt the covid forum? I'm often not here for days/weeks ... what a strange thing to say.

And yes @FizziWater it will affect my decision whether to be vaccinated.

I replied to your other post @Dustyboots.
Here you go, hospitalisations compared with proportion of population.

That is a very good graph to visualise how vaccines are effective, MRex.

For added info @Dustyboots, this article explains conditions people have who have been double vaccinated, who unfortunately don't get that same level of vaccine protection and may therefore still end up hospitalised: www.cidrap.umn.edu/news-perspective/2021/07/covid-19-vaccines-shown-protect-risk-patients. Those are the people who we would hope to protect by herd immunity where everyone gets vaccinated rather than allowing spread of infections. It's worth noting that very elderly aren't explicitly included in the attached, but frailty from old age can also lead to poor immune response and hospitalisation; we know from the figures that age is a high predictor of hospitalisation.
