Periods - 20 yr old - Covid Vaccine

Hi all,

My 20 yr old daughter since having her Covid Vaccines (she has had both as SEN/autism and unfortunately both were AZ) has started having 2 periods in one month. This occured in May and she had first jab in March or April) and has happened again in July and she had 2nd jab in early June. At the time she had the first jab, the blood clot thing had just hit the news but it wasn't known that it would affect young people more. Whatever jab was available was dished out when DD had 1st jab and it was AZ, just in case anyone was wondering...

She hates having periods as it is. Is it worth consulting the doctor ? She isn't at an age where she would affected by the dreaded perimenopause, such as myself and I am 45 and usually miss periods.

Thanks all. I hope someone will advise me as I know there are loads of period/vaccine threads always on Mumsnet but these are mentioning older ladies like myself lol

Hi @LizzieLoo28, I think this is quite a common side effect of the jab amongst women of all ages so I wouldn't worry too much. Most people say it is a short term side effect and her periods should be back to normal cycle within one to two months. I would suggest you keep an eye on it and if they don't go back to normal over the next couple of cycles to then contact the doctor.
