I didn't go to my day 2 test

I didn't go to my day 2 test, for reasons I won't go into, and can't get hold of the provider I booked it with - the phone number doesn't even connect. Can anyone tell me what will happen?

Nothing too serious

I didn't go to my day 2 test

www.gov.uk/guidance/how-to-quarantine-when-you-arrive-in-england
Scroll down, indicates a £2000 penalty?

Amboseli · 30/07/2021 17:33

I couldn't do my day 2 test because the provider's website was faulty and couldn't register the test kit. So I did it on day 3 which is pointless as it is over 48 hours since the flight.

Everyone on flights on the same day as us had the same problem as everyone had ordered their test through TUI with the same provider.

All a bit of a mess. A bit like when the government Excel spreadsheet chopped off about 20,000 people who were not passed onto track and trace...

Annabellerina · 30/07/2021 17:47

Did anything ever come of it @amboseli?

Dds hasn’t been received.l by Chronomics and he did it (and posted it) Monday
The rest of the family at sake time got their results Tuesday

His was a waste of time

Watapalava · 30/07/2021 18:05

Sorry for typos

Nothing will happen

No one is checking you actually have the test

Annabellerina · 30/07/2021 19:12

That's what I suspected @watapalava obviously I didn't intend to miss it and am not a covid rebel by any means but I couldn't avoid what happened so I was panicking about the consequences.

@Annabellerina no nobody has contacted us. It was Chronomics, I've got emails with TUI confirming there was a problem with chronomics website so can point to those if anyone calls.

I posted off the tests today in the prepaid envelope that came with the tests but the post office couldn't scan any of the barcodes. So they've been posted but can't be tracked, will no doubt get lost in the post.

My daughter did her test on day 2 before we realised the website was faulty. So hers was sent of on day 3 with ours so will probably be invalid.

Anyway we've done what we can. Sounds like nobody cares anyway. At least the tests were only £20.

Watapalava · 30/07/2021 20:48

The Chronomics tests don’t need scanning apparently

My post office say told me they should be put straight in post box which I did

Annabellerina · 30/07/2021 21:18

Ok this all sounds as I expected - a bit chaotic and disorganised. I'm hoping nobody even notices we didn't turn up today!

Similar thing with us, did 4 tests on Monday morning after our holiday to Greece. Posted on Monday lunchtime. (Post office said they have to go straight into the priority postbox outside, they couldn't take them).

2 of the 4 tests came back via text yesterday, negative. The other 2 still don't seem to have been received by Chronomics.

But we've done them, I don't care now. Not our fault if they get lost or not processed.

The worst thing for us was in Greece itself last Thursday and doing the return to UK tests. Did 3 of the 4 absolutely fine, but when we came to do the 4th test, opened the sealed packet, entered the barcode off the test and it said "barcode has already been used". Couldn't get through to anyone at TUI or Chronomics, so had to get a local test done for that one instead.
Even now, 6 days later, they haven't replied to my urgent request for help.

Dh got his day 2 test result today - we returned 12 days ago
