Anyone had the vaccine a few weeks after birth?

I gave birth just over 2 weeks ago. It's now been 8 weeks since I had my 1st Pfizer jab so due the 2nd. I'm thinking about going to a walk in centre this week but I'm a little nervous about any side effects in this post natal time. I didn't have any side effects first time round apart from a sore arm. I think I'm just nervous about it making the first period even worse, when it comes. Any experiences?

I don't know and bumping this for you because I'm interested in responses for a pregnant friend. Have you tried asking the midwives if they know anyone?

I’m 4 weeks pp and had my 2nd dose today: I didn’t even think about being post partum having having an impact on side effects… I am expecting to feel rough though as I heard that can happen with the mRNA vaccines

I went for it and had my second Pfizer as a place came up today for walk ins. Checked with the nurse and she said it was fine to have after birth.

I had my first 10 days after giving birth with no side effects at all, had the second 8 weeks later and still no side effects except maybe tiredness, a headache and a sore arm (the first two could just be side effects of having a poorly sleeping baby!)

Friend has had hers during pregnancy and had no side effects either!

Desperate to know experiences too!

We are able to get our second if we go to a walk in centre now but I stupidly looked on a recent Moderna thread and there was nothing but responses saying the second dose left them absolutely floored with fevers, chills and unable to get out of bed. I have a two year old and a newborn and am so torn as if desperately like to be full vaxxed now but am so afraid of ending up really unwell for a few days when I’ve two really little children to care for.

I've had it postnatally and felt unwell the day after and sore arm kicked in first night. Didn't last long.

I had both doses in after giving birth (less than the recommended 12 week wait between doses due to them giving me the option of having the 2nd earlier) and I was fine. A little tired (what’s new!) and my arm hurt but that was it for me.

My male friend had Moderna with chills etc after first dose. He had a bit of low blood pressure dizziness for a few hours after the second and felt a bit sleepy that day, but was fine the day after. So it really isn't always the case, different people respond differently based on their own immune system.

I had my second Moderna last week and although I did feel a bit rough 24 hours later, it was nothing that couldn’t be resolved with paracetamol & ibruprofen. I felt pretty normal once the painkillers kicked in.

I’m not post partum but was 7 days off a brutal cycle of IVF so hormones all over the place.
