Anyone in their 20s had both Pfizer vaccines?

Cherir20 · 25/07/2021 13:34

Hey. Have any of you had both doses of the Pfizer ? I caught Covid last December and have had long Covid which left me bed bound for months and messed up my liver. I am now 90% back to normal and I’m petrified of catching it again. I don’t have any underline health conditions and am a healthy weight etc it affected me terribly months after catching it. I had my first Pfizer shot a few months ago and since then I have been shown so many videos of young people suffering with muscle paralysis seizures etc since having their second dose of Pfizer. It has scared me to death but also the thought of what Covid done to me the first time round equally scares me.

I just want to know if anyone on here in their 20s had both and are fine? I have a baby to look after and I really don’t know what to do! I just want to see if anyone else in their 20s has had it and been fine.

Who on earth has been showing you the videos?!

Cherir20 · 25/07/2021 13:39

@BalladOfBarryAndFreda friends sharing them constantly ( the videos are of people in the Uk too one being a NHS nurse) and people I know on social media platforms every single day! Can not get away from it.

There is a lot of antivax propaganda out there, which is what I suspect these videos are. The trials have shown the vaccines to be safe and effective. Like any drugs, there is a risk of side effects but serious side effects are vanishingly rare. Unlike with COVID, as you’ve unfortunately seen.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 25/07/2021 13:43

My 3 dc have all had Pfizer with no issues other than the youngest having a slightly stiff arm after the second that cleared up within a couple of days. They are 23, 20 and 18. Loads of the eldest's friends and co-workers (he works in a hospital so all vaccinated since jan/Feb) had both doses without any issues. The only people he knows who had a strong reaction to the vaccine in terms of side effects had AZ.

I'm in Ireland and pfizer is much more commonly used here.

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 25/07/2021 13:44

Your ‘NHS nurse’ friend is incredibly irresponsible and breaching NMC social media use policy. I suggest you curate your social media a little as I haven’t seen any of this.

Covidforever · 25/07/2021 13:47

My DS (21yo, nhs placement) had both Pfizer jabs in Feb and May, no side effects at all.

You ve nothing to worry about, 100s of millions of jabs, few if any side effects and you already know what CV can do to you.

yikesanotherbooboo · 25/07/2021 13:51

Concentrate on information from reliable sources. There is so much out there now as millions of people have had the Pfizer vaccine. Yes, you can feel off colour for a few days , it will wear off . The serious side effects are incredibly rare. Think of the bigger picture of which you are only too well aware. FWIW two of my three young adult DC and two of their partners have all had 2 Pfizers and no problems; remaining DC had AZ x 2 also no issues apart from feeling unwell for a day.

Lunde · 25/07/2021 13:55

Not in the UK but both of my DDs - 25 and 23 - have had both doses of Pfizer without dramatic side effects

AppleKatie · 25/07/2021 13:58

If this was happening it would be on the proper news and right at the top too.

If it’s a bombardment of social media Videos with no trace on the respectable news outlets or scientific channels its bullshit and you would be best putting your phone down for awhile.

Wilkolampshade · 25/07/2021 13:58

DD1, 22, had both. No reaction to either. Same as her very, very extensive peer group who at the most had a sore arm or flu like symptoms for a day or so.
I'm so sorry but the videos you've seen sound extremely dodgy to say the least. Spend a little time looking at your social media settings and clear out/mute the anti vax stuff. Consider carefully its origin.

CharlieBrown65 · 25/07/2021 13:58

I'm 27 and had both Pfizer jabs. The only symptom I got was a sore arm. I'm a teacher hence the early vaccines!

gogohm · 25/07/2021 14:00

Dd has had both, early 20's no problem

Darbs76 · 25/07/2021 14:27

My son’s 27, had both vaccines and no side effects or problems

MRex · 25/07/2021 14:28

You're being lied to unfortunately @Cherir20. Those videos are propaganda, they are people with other illnesses including hereditary conditions and pretend cases made up by malicious sources. Please speak with real life professionals such as your GP for information.

This report is from 2018, misinformation isn't uniquely about covid and rather is an ongoing effort linked to global political agendas:
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6137759/

A full 93% of tweets about vaccines are generated by accounts whose provenance can be verified as neither bots nor human users yet who exhibit malicious behaviors. These unidentified accounts preferentially tweet antivaccine misinformation.

dreamadream3 · 25/07/2021 14:57

I've had both, I'm 29 and no side effects x

Little bit old for your question Grin but am 31, have had both with no side effects apart from a sore arm. As are the many many others who have had the pfizer vaccine with no issues.

As PPs have said, you're being lied to and manipulated by those with an anti-vax agenda, who are often profiting from sharing misinformation. Personally I'd mute the people who are sharing this kind of stuff - as for your friend who's a nurse, she could be at risk of losing her license for spreading health misinformation.

The media have reported deaths and side effects from the vaccines which has been headline news, it was not supressed. What they don't report are stories with no evidence it has actually happened, which is the case for all these stories about terrifying side effects from the vaccine. This is why people resort to using far right websites like bitchute, odessee, telegram etc, because they are the kind of people who will peddle anti-vax misinformation.

CatAlice · 25/07/2021 15:23

Two DC in their 20s, both had both doses. One had a headache after the first but zero after the 2nd dose. One is a teacher and although he was desperate to get vaccinated wasn't allowed to get his until June, he got his 2nd dose at 5 weeks at a walk in centre.
Anti vaxxers will go to any lengths to get people to join them. Don't get your "information " from social media, listen to the medical professionals.

Cherir20 · 26/07/2021 09:07

Thanks everyone. The videos I have seen are real people on there personal pages telling their story. My friend isn’t an NHS nurse one of the girls who are telling their story was a NHS nurse before the vaccine paralysed her. This is why im worrying! She had the vaccine early in the year and she’s documenting her day to day life but there are quite a few young woman also doing the same. I can share the pages and Instagram names on here if anyone wishes to see (it’s not nice) but they definitely aren’t made up! It’s rubbish wish there was no media at all at times like this! I genuinely think I will come off of it tbh.

My 18 year oldDD had Pfizer in jan and April, when she was 17. No side affects bar a bit of a sore arm for jab one. 21 year old DS has had jab 1, no side affects.

MareofBeasttown · 26/07/2021 09:23

My niece and nephew in the US, both in their 20s, had Pfizer with no ill effects. Please get off Facebook. It is just a cesspool of anti-vax lies. I have been horrified by some of the nonsense on MN recently as well.

CharlieBrown65 · 26/07/2021 09:25

I think it's difficult as there are risks with any type of medication. I was absolutely fine one day and then suddenly became allergic to ibuprofen and nearly died from anaphylactic shock. There's a 2% chance of developing this sudden allergy ( www.google.com/amp/s/www.practicalpainmanagement.com/amp/15398) which is far higher than any vaccine side effects! Yet people take ibuprofen all the time without a second thought. The chance of anything happening from the vaccine is so low!

Abraxan · 26/07/2021 09:36

19y Dd has had two doses of Pfizer and been totally fine. She is now 2 weeks post second vaccine.
Worst side effect she had was a bit of a sore arm, nothing more.

All of her friends in late teens/early 20s have had at least one dose of Pfizer. None have had any unpleasant side effects with first or second.

Abraxan · 26/07/2021 09:38

Remember - on social media you will generally only see the outliers, and you also never know how true they actually are either, or if there is any back story.

The vast majority of people vaccinated aged have had no side effects but their 'story' won't be online to view.

Emcont · 26/07/2021 11:15

I’m 27, had both vaccines, the last being a few months ago. Not a single side effect after having either done. No side effects since. Haven’t had or caught COVID yet (fingers crossed)

Chickenqueen · 26/07/2021 11:30

I am 29 I had both jabs, last one in May and have been fine, no side effects. I actually got covid last week and it was verrrry mild, literally only had light cold symptoms for 2 days, whereas all my single/no dose friends who also caught it were ill for 7 days so I think it did the job!
