My daughter, nearly 2, has recently tested positive for covid, she has completely lost her appetite and has hardly eaten anything in 3 days and as any mum would do I'm worried sick about this, little pieces of food/fruit have been offered with little interest. She is drinking a lot which is a bonus but has anyone any similar stories, any advice or things I could try. TIA

My just turned 2 year old has been ill for over a week. She tested negative for covid but she didn’t eat for about 4 days. Keep up pain meds in case of sore throats, offer lots of drinks and ice lollies. My toddler survived on boob milk, hot chocolate and ice lollies. It takes a lots of energy to fight an infection and to digest food so often the food focuses on the infection instead. Keep up fluids. Toddlers are surprisingly good at listening to their bodies.

This happened to my friend's child. It was because she'd lost her sense of taste. It returned after a few days and so did her appetite ☺️

As long as she is getting fluids I wouldn't worry too much.
My DC is regularly really unwell and they don't eat, even in hospital they push fluids and give IV fluids, they only put a ng tube in for feeds after a longer time than a few days without any food.

DD had Covid recently at 14 months, she didn't eat a bite for 6 days. She drank water and breastfed which kept her going. GP said they are fine with water and milk x
