Has anyone ever BEEN on your period when having the vaccine?

My period started today and I'm also getting my second jab. I just wondered if it will likely be effected? I get so hormonal leading up to my period, it's often a big release for me when it comes (I have pcos!) so I very much hope it's not effected today 😬😬😬

I had my second AZ jab the day my period started. I'm now 14 days late with no PMS symptoms and feeling great. I am also 46 and 8.5 years into the perimenopause so hoping that this could be finally be the end.😁( Probably won't be though)

Wilkolampshade · 24/07/2021 12:29

God. NOTHING seems to stop my fucking periods. I'm 110, (or close enough) have all the anxiety rage and weight gain of peri-menopause, but regular as fucking clockwork, every bloody month, another pointless, crampy, miserable period.
Why? WHY????
Maybe I'll miss them when they're gone...

november90 · 24/07/2021 12:42

@Wilkolampshade oh bless you! I'm sorry but this response did make me have a little laugh (the way you've worded it 🙊) I hope them periods bugger off soon for you!

@november90 well, it's laugh or cry isn't it?Xx😊

Sandyjag · 24/07/2021 18:35

First jab on day 1 of period, totally Normal period and so was the following one. Then my cycle switched from 28 days clockwork to 24 days clockwork and has continued like that for 4 months. I have yellow carded it as should everyone if they can (can google it).

DobbyTheHouseElk · 24/07/2021 21:29

Yes with both vaccinations. It’s had zero effect in periods. Was hoping for a break in them, but no such luck. But breastfeeding didn’t stop them so nothing will.

Acunningruse · 24/07/2021 21:30

I was due my period the day of or after my second vaccine. It hadn't arrived by the time I had my vaccine though I had all the signs of it arriving imminently, it was then a week late.

Reastie · 24/07/2021 21:47

No but I was due a couple of days after. It was about 4 days late which is unheard of. Hasn’t happened in years. There was no anxiety or concern like one doctor has blamed the issues on. I hadn’t put the 2 together but I’m wondering if it could be related.

CaptSkippy · 24/07/2021 21:49

I just got my second jab a few days ago while on my period. So far I am not noticing any chance. My arm is a little sore, but less so than the last time I got it.

CaptSkippy · 24/07/2021 21:53

I want to add that it's not uncommon for changes in your immune system to affect you cycle and a vaccine definitely causes a change in the immune system. I was never very regular, but I would not at all be surprised if many women are affected by it.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/07/2021 21:56

Yes. I came on the day I had my first jab. Had my first 28 day cycle in a loooooong time afterwards! (Followed by a 56 day cycle...I'm in peri!)

SCMocha · 25/07/2021 08:08

Yes ,started the same day as 1st dose. No further effects from the vaccine on it.

herecomesthsun · 25/07/2021 09:32

@SCMocha

Yes ,started the same day as 1st dose. No further effects from the vaccine on it.
same here, but then had a 6 week gap till the next period.
Rosiestraws · 25/07/2021 09:36

Yes for both of mine was on my period and no effects at all on it...exactly as normal. Pfizer here.
Bit of headache and tired after jab 1. Second jab I sat in the sun for a few hours on the same day and then had a really awful headache the rest of the day..Not sure which was to blame but it had gone the next day!

olivethegreat · 25/07/2021 11:00

I was and then it turned into 6 weeks of madness but I flooded while queuing and hadn't had one for 6 months before so I don't think it was due to the vaccine. But it certainly didn't stop it !

Mistlewoeandwhine · 25/07/2021 11:09

Pfizer and my (regular as clockwork) period came 4 days early and was very heavy. I’m 50 though, so I doubt that anyone would listen to me!

november90 · 25/07/2021 12:08

So my period so far has been a lot lighter with a lot more clots then normal... maybe it's just a coincidence though!
I'm still breastfeeding so my period are abit all over the shop anyway, on top of my normal irregularity 🙈

Yes, I was in day one, it stopped that night and started again 3 days later.

Genehuntsfanclub · 01/08/2021 14:06

Well my period has arrived exactly 4 weeks late. It seems like I have missed an entire month's cycle and had no PMS symptoms at all. I have however been having " warm moments," but none of the traditional hot flushes . I'm still hopeful that after being in perimenopause for so long I should soon be coming to the end. I will be reporting my name experience on the yellow card website.

EddieVeddersfoxymop · 02/08/2021 14:01

Yes, I was on day 2 and that period finished totally normal. Just started my next one yesterday, 4 days late, very clotted and so much pain that I've gone back to bed after taking strong painkillers. Have reported it.

Fuckityfucksake · 02/08/2021 14:12

Yes I was day 1 of my period with the first jab (AZ) within 90 mins of getting it my period flow massively increased, it went like water and was like I'd turned a tap on. I was at work and kept having to take myself off to the loo to change flooded pads every 30 or so mins, for pretty much the rest of the day. It had calmed down by the next day.

I reported it back and apparently it's a thing with AZ.
I purposely stayed away from my period with my second jab.
