Do you mean how long you've been positive for? Hard to know unless you're a close contact.. I lost my taste and smell 3 days after testing positive.

I've been googling & it says around day 3 or 4, have a slight sniffle as well... Dc seem fine, no complaints..

My smell went on day 6. Very late for me.

My smell went on day 4 after testing positive on LFT and PCR.

How long before the smell & taste came back?

Mine still aren’t right and I had Covid over Christmas, so it can take a long time, I’m afraid.

Day 10 and I have about 10% smell and taste back. Lost 4lb though so silver linings and all that.

Choconuttolata · 24/07/2021 09:31

Still not got full smell back 7 months later and also get phantom smoke smells at random times.

How long before the smell & taste came back?
Me and DP had it May 2020. I never lost my taste/smell but DP did and it has never come back 😨.

DH lost his completely (March 2020, pre-testing, but we're now absolutely convinced we both had it because we had all the classic symptoms). He said it was like nothing he'd ever experienced - at the time, loss of taste and smell weren't listed as symptoms, so we had no idea what the cause was. He ate a raw scotch bonnet chilli to prove how he couldn't taste anything Grin It lasted about two weeks and he recovered both completely. Oddly, my loss was much milder, but I still have moments where I smell a strange burning smell - it's not like bonfires, it's hard to describe.

My neighbours loss of smell started on day 9! He can still taste, he’s says it very peculiar!
