Covid Isolation confusion - can anyone clarify for me?

Family of four, dh, ds, dd and me.
DS has Covid, started on Thurs last week
DH has some symptoms of Covid (but equally it could just be a cold!) so far test is negative BUT if DH does get a positive result, I know he has to isolate from the day his symptoms start. What about me and dd? Does our isolation finish when ds's does?

Thanks.

Yes, unless you get symptoms. Worth you both getting a test though, as if you get symptoms on day 11+ then DS will have to re-isolate with you for an extra 10 days.

Yes. there is another thread on here where many are arguing that bcak is white and that the OP is a murderer for suggesting releasing one of her children after the end of the 10 day isolation - but technically, as long as the later positive test falls within the isolation period for the first test, then the rest of the household does not have to isolate again.

If another person tests positive AFTER the 10 day isolation period, then the whole family isolates again.

Apologies wrong thread.

If another person tests positive AFTER the 10 day isolation period, then the whole family isolates again.

This.

If on Day 9 of the initial isolation a new household member gets symptoms then everyone who hasn't yet tested positive needs to re-start the 10 day isolation.

Anyone who tests positive on a PCR can end isolation after 10 days regardless if anyone else tests positive after them.

Roses that's not true. If it's day 9, then the original people are released on day 10.

Not if someone else in the household tests positive. If a second household member tests positive then 10 day clock restarts.

Only people who have already tested positive can be released on day 10 if another household member test positive.

No - see the image.

EVERYONE is release EXCEPT the second family member testing positive.

Thanks I stand corrected! This wasn't the case when we all had covid in February. We were told by T&T that the clock restarts for those who test negative until the 10 days of the last person testing positive is up.

Pantene23 · 21/07/2021 15:27

@roses2 you were told the wrong information then. This has always been the case. Although I have heard of test and trace giving out the wrong information on other occasions. As long as the second or subsequent people test positive within the original ten day time frame, members of the household who have no symptoms and are negative leave isolation on the original get out date.

SureBorisKnowsWhatHesDoingNOT · 21/07/2021 22:45

Thanks everyone. Dh rang track and trace in the end. It is only him who has to start a new isolation from when his symptoms started. The rest of us can still come out of isolation on Sunday. Just really hoping dd and I can stay clear of it now!
