Didn’t have second jab, how do I have it now?

I chickened out of my second jab. It was due around the same time that they stopped giving the Oxford one to under 30s and I was 30.

I had my first in March.

How do I go about getting my second now? Especially if they are saying you have to be doubled jabbed to do anything in the future..

Take up is at rock bottom now so you won'tneed an appointment. To find a walk in near you look on your local CCG hospital Facebook page. Or google vaccine walk in near x.
As others have said it will be more effective for waiting longer.

The problem at the moment is most walk ins aren’t AZ (or certainly that’s the situation round here).

Cookerhood · 20/07/2021 15:00

My advice for AZ would be to book it through the website or call 119. The reason for this is that some centres are not doing AZ or may not have a vial open so they won't want to open one for one eprson. We had someone turn up last week who was shouting at the staff because she could only get there after work & kept turning up at 7.30 when there were no AZ vials open. I'm not clear why she wouldn't book on line, but the on line system will know where they are doing AZ.
I wouldn't worry about the big gap, well done for stepping up & having it, whatever the reason.

Helpful. In reality OP it will be very easy. Use the National booking system, look out for a walk in clinic nearby or speak to your GP. The gap isn’t a problem. My mum is a vaccinator and they have this all the time. It’s not an issue for them, they’re just glad to have people turn up. So save your sympathy @Derbee, those doing the vaccinations don’t want or need it.

You’ve done a really good thing in changing your mind. Hopefully you can get it sorted easily.

Check nhs website

Our CCG had this special vaccination weekend recently and posted all places where you could get vaccinated and which vaccine each of them was using. It was walk in for over 18 who was not been vaccinated yet or only had one jab. So check online for something like this near you.
However I would check your situation because of the gap, just in case . You could phone your GP or even better if you have a big vaccination site locally email or phone to them.

walk in... I had my first in March & 2nd one 10 days ago (both walk in, actually). Details of the walk-in clinics were being posted repeatedly on my local facebook groups recently.
