How more confusing can this get?

Is this really the best way to govern a country?

dangerrabbit · 18/07/2021 12:04

Have they been reading threads on here and worrying about their approval ratings 🤔

ineedaholidaynow · 18/07/2021 12:05

This is one of the quickest u-turns even for this Government

Dustyboots · 18/07/2021 12:05

I expect they think they made the change/ u turn so quickly that no one will have noticed

He's such a flip flop of a man, it's ridiculous he's our leader. Just as he wrote two articles prior to the Referendum- one leave, one remain - he has no integrity whatsoever.

ilovesooty · 18/07/2021 12:08

Because it dawned on Sunak that otherwise they'd be a teeny tiny bit unpopular and Johnson didn't want to lose what little moral high ground they could retrieve?

Howcanthisbe123 · 18/07/2021 12:11

As if they are isolating! can’t see them sitting in a house by themselves for 10 days bored shitless out their minds in this heat!

Cosybelles · 18/07/2021 12:13

It's good to know that you can decide whether or not to isolate based on feelings! Wink

Of course they wont. they both can follow the PMs litle rhyme last year

"We have a route, we have a plan. Work from Home if you can"

Port1aCastis · 18/07/2021 12:52

Damage is done
Their arseholery is proven
A massive big U turn isn't going to change public opinion
How to lose voters in one easy lesson is on their agenda this weekend

Noterook · 18/07/2021 12:54

I honestly cannot comprehend how they didn't foresee people being annoyed. If things were more normal and the pilot was the last part of the puzzle for moving forward then I can see why they might do it to be seen as champions of it, but cripes so tone deaf it's ridiculous.

123abcyellowredblue · 18/07/2021 13:57

I literally have no respect for Boris now.

The absolute disaster of a government.

The deaths, the jobs lost, the families separated, the schooling lost, the suicides, the mental health problems.. and Boris can't even be bothered to isolate until he has the wrath of the nation on his head!!!

Absolutely disgusting.

TheQueef · 18/07/2021 13:59

I reckon they aren't sure of the rules like the rest of us and thought they could wing it.
Even Boris wouldn't be so blatant, surely?

Thought we were back in the 2000s talking about Blair for a moment! Grin
MaMelon · 18/07/2021 14:04

I suspect that the magnitude of their monumental cock up in opening everything back up has now hit them as it’s all now a bit too close for comfort.

A-holes, every one of them. We are cannon fodder, nothing more.

RoseRedRoseBlue · 18/07/2021 14:05

It’s an absolute shambles, but you have to hand it to them for sheer audacity.

Westfacing · 18/07/2021 14:10

Apparently it's news to TFL that they're part of the 'pilot scheme'.

Comedycook · 18/07/2021 14:12

Absolutely hilarious. I think even they must have realised they couldn't realistically expect hundreds of thousands of us to isolate whilst taking part in this pilot scheme...which seemed very convenient

wjg65ka · 18/07/2021 14:13

So they should be. Anyone else would have to

Westfacing · 18/07/2021 14:20

I think the game was up when the editor of The Sun, on the Andrew Marr show this morning, was scathing about them not isolating.

Like it or not that rag is very influential - tomorrow's edition would have been calling for their heads.

CrowdedMouse · 18/07/2021 14:40

I do agree with Tony Blair, BJ shouldn't be isolating. He's had 2 jabs and a negative lateral flow test - he should be in Downing Street running the country.

Cornettoninja · 18/07/2021 14:44

And he should be leader enough to have the backbone to stand up and say that. He’s weak.

When does parliament break up? It’s not a bad extension to their holidays whilst the rest of us live with the consequences of their policies.

Noterook · 18/07/2021 14:49

@CrowdedMouse

I do agree with Tony Blair, BJ shouldn't be isolating. He's had 2 jabs and a negative lateral flow test - he should be in Downing Street running the country.
Then all of us who have had both jabs and are taking lateral flow tests should be able to go to work instead of isolate, it's still a month or whatever isn't it until that's the case.
ineedaholidaynow · 18/07/2021 14:54

He is working, but from home. Parliament break up this week. Will be interesting to see how many MPs will be in the Commons

everythingthelighttouches · 18/07/2021 14:54

Just saw this on Twitter and it is spot on:

Cummings Barnard Castle x Hancock affair x 1,000,000
