Any advice about starting the 10 days AGAIN??

So long story short, myself and my son both had Covid and came out of isolation last week.
My husband has tested positive today, do we have to start 10 days again?
Nothing is clear online

Yes I think you are supposed to isolate again as you had both finished the original isolation period.

cls123 · 18/07/2021 10:03

why would you need to isolate again though if you and son have both just had COVID?????

Scottishgirl85 · 18/07/2021 10:03

Surely not, that's insane

dementedpixie · 18/07/2021 10:04

Because that's apparently the rules
If he had got symptoms within the original 10 days then they wouldn't need to isolate but because it was after that then they do

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 18/07/2021 10:06

No. The rules are stupid - get yourself out.

cls123 · 18/07/2021 10:07

the rules make sense if its someone who didnt catch covid in the initial isolation period but not if you have just recovered from it.seeing as the isolation rules are changing anyway on aug 16th anyway so close contacts will not have to isolate after contact with a positive case, i'd be minded to use common sense.

dementedpixie · 18/07/2021 10:11

It does seem stupid. Has he tested positive within 14 days of the first person getting it? (Isolation period used to be 14 days rather than 10)

AnxietyForever · 18/07/2021 10:11

Ffs this is ridiculous, I'm ignoring the rules, I'm not isolating again.

@dementedpixie my son tested positive 2 weeks ago today.
My husband said his symptoms started on Friday but thought it was hay fever
