Can the vaxx show up on a LFT?

I had moderna 2 on Monday- have been rough all week with side effects & haven’t been anywhere as a result. I do have 2 kids in school (1 primary and 1 secondary) though. Also had covid last year.

Felt better yesterday but then really rough again overnight and today & did LFT this morning and it was really faintly positive followed by another negative one. Have now been for a PCR to see either way.

Is it at all possible that the vaxx could show up on the LFT? I assume it doesn’t work like that - am just surprised to get a positive LFT when I haven’t been anywhere.

It’s hard to separate feeling crap from vaccine side effects with possible covid symptoms and also my period too. And I have bad hayfever this year too 🙄

You haven't been anywhere but your children have, so they may have passed it on.

I've done a shitload of tests since my vaccines and they've always been negative. Chances are a positive is due to viral load, not the vaccine.

Em, you have been somewhere - the vaccination centre.

thelastgoldeneagle · 17/07/2021 17:30

No. The Moderna vaccine has no live Covid virus in it so you can't catch Covid from your vaccine.

I agree.

Here’s the explanation

@QueenStromba yes true but would it take 5 days for symptoms to show up?

4.4 days is the average time from exposure to symptoms.

I did lateral flows daily after my vaccine as my DC tested positive hours after I had my jab. I never had a positive LFT.

Urbanhymngirl · 17/07/2021 17:38

Also it’s my 4th LFT this week as we are doing regular testing and all the rest have been negative. I mean- it’s entirely likely my kids have brought it into the house though too

I’m just bloody amazed to be honest if it is - I was really ill last year with it for 2 weeks and am also double vaxxed so you would think I had loads of antibodies!!!

I hope your PCR is negative. You’d only be classed as singled vaxxed at present as it takes two weeks post second vaccination to get the protection from your second dose.

There is a chance your LFT is a false positive. There is no chance it shows positive as a result of your vaccination.
