Has anyone actually booked to go abroad this summer? If so where and what packages are you using for tests

Me. Cyprus. I haven’t booked any packages yet.

From Ireland. Leaving for a month in Croatia on Wednesday.

theDudesmummy · 16/07/2021 20:04

We have the EU covid passports. DS who is 12 needs a PCR, will be done privately on Monday.

We go “home” to Croatia (family), it doesn’t require tests for vaccinated adults, and only DS17 needs to do a rapid antigen test. Booked online, I thought we’d go in person through this one www.dam-health.com but I believe at the end DH found another one who sends the results via email in 30’. Not a major risk because the alternative is to test at a facility just outside the Croatian airport which charges around 11£…

Going to Finland and being double vaxrd I don't need any tests. Coming back I will take cheapest pcr I have found in Finland, 99 euro... I need to sort day 2 test soon.

Two trips to Greece to see family. We have booked a package with tui both times as one we know the people who have the apts and all their rooms are contracted to tui and the second is a huge place with famoly scattered everywhere so we stay centrally.

Got a reasonable price for holidays and tests are 20 quid per person for all our tests. Subsidised by TUI.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 16/07/2021 20:29

Oh and double vaccinated so don't need tests for entry

Watapalava · 16/07/2021 20:29

yep i'm going tomorrow

Used Randox 3 hour express at Manchester airport for the kids pre departure tests - results actually came through this morning 1.5 hours after test.

I'm booked with TUI so using their green package for an amber holiday as im vaccinated - £20 pp inc test to fly home and day 2 test so bargain

coogee · 16/07/2021 22:32

The TUI test packages are a bargain. Jet2's not so much.

Arrived back from 11 days in Majorca today. Was bliss

We've been to Greece. Got our Day 5 Test to Release this morning so out of isolation.

We're double-jabbed but took LFTs the day before we left. Tested at the airport in Greece on arrival, tested the day before we flew back. Tested Day 2 here then Day 5 yesterday. Don't think we're any risk to anyone!

We used ExpressTest as we travelled independently. Day 2 tests took over 48hours to come back but our Test to Release was less than 24 hours

wonderstuff · 16/07/2021 23:26

We booked Orlando, flights were cancelled last week, now moved to Easter, everything crossed that borders will be open by then.

Xiaoxiong · 16/07/2021 23:31

Yes to the USA, but it's "home" to see family and go to a family funeral. We all have US passports except for DH but he should hopefully be ok travelling with us as an immediate family member. We'll see...

Xiaoxiong · 16/07/2021 23:32

(So far, both our outbound and inbound flights have been cancelled and rebooked at least once so I'm anticipating further shenanigans as we get closer to our departure date.)
