If you felt unwell after Pfizer first dose, how did you feel after second?

I felt awful after the first dose and just wondering if that means I’ll feel worse after the second! I’m the only person I know to feel crap after it, so looking for some others who did too to see if it correlates Smile

I’m interested in this too! Didn’t feel great after my first with side effects lasting on and off for 3-4 weeks .

AnyFucker · 15/07/2021 14:23

Not great, but better than the 1st.

WellTidy · 15/07/2021 14:26

Felt very flu-y after my fist, very sore arm. After my second, nothing whatsoever, not even a sore arm. I wouldn’t have known I’d had it.

DS was worried about his 2nd dose as he felt rough after the first (pfizer). He had the 2nd yesterday with some trepidation and was absolutely fine.

user54978 · 15/07/2021 14:27

Bit tired and achy - but even just one paracetamol had a huge effect. Mostly over the moon to be fully vaccinated.

HorseGallopingOnATomato · 15/07/2021 14:27

Following this one. I had a really hard time after the first too, second likely to be September. Fingers crossed it goes smoothly for you!

Palavah · 15/07/2021 14:28

Bit fluey after the 1st, absolutely fine after the 2nd. Possibly a bit more tired but that might have been other factors.

Londonalf · 15/07/2021 14:33

Thanks everyone for your replies! Looks like it just depends on the individual. Fingers crossed!

I had my second Pfizer dose on Tuesday.
Yesterday was a complete blur for me. I slept pretty much all day. I’ve had headaches, painful aches and flu symptoms. I’m still feeling rubbish now.
I’m the only person I know of that has had such extreme symptoms with this one. Everyone else I’ve spoken to has just had a sore arm.

With the first dose I was quite tired for 24 hours and my arm was really sore.

shash1982 · 15/07/2021 14:38

I felt awful after my first. Brain fog, exhausted & generally crap on & off for a couple of weeks.
My second is booked for Monday & am really hoping I feel okay after.

shash1982 · 15/07/2021 14:39

Pressed too soon!

It messed my periods up too! But saying that, I had covid in December & that felt worse.

Devondonkey · 15/07/2021 14:46

Bit ropey after first. Sore arm (slightly) after second and nothing else.

TuesdayRuby · 15/07/2021 14:51

Felt a bit fluey after my first with a sore arm. Had my second this morning so will report back tomorrow!

OliveTree75 · 15/07/2021 14:52

Following this too. I felt rotten after my first pfizer and feel sick with worry about my second one tomorrow

Imaystillbedrunk · 15/07/2021 14:55

Had my second dose yesterday. First I was in bed for 4 days, today I feel rubbish but better than last time. I did take a hour nap on the sofa during my lunch break to try and get some energy before an afternoon of meetings ahead of me

Onynx · 15/07/2021 17:30

Had my second dose yesterday, feel exhausted and a headache as if I'm wearing sunglasses that are too tight on my head as well as feeling generally hung-over & nauseous.

NeverEnoughCake2 · 15/07/2021 17:45

Had flu symptoms for 36 hours after the first one (had to take a half day off work as I had a temperature and was making no sense!) but nothing except a sore arm after the second.

IWishTheBishopWell · 15/07/2021 18:29

I had a very painful arm after my first and a mild 'bleurgh' type feeling, felt a bit tired and a little run down. Joints were achey but that could have been my arthritis!

After my second I had a mildly sore arm, not as bad as before but I felt worse generally, that 'coming down with a cold' feeling, achey joints again but worse than the first time and a bad headache. I logged on at work the next day but ended up having to log off in the afternoon and achieved very little - wish I had just taken the day off sick.

Amongst my friends people who had worse side effects after the first vaccine had milder side effects after the second and vice versa.

Unsoliciteddeckpic · 15/07/2021 18:31

I had my second today. After the first I felt a bit tired and rubbish. My arm ached a bit.

Today, I feel absolutely shocking. But I have worked over 40 hours already this week and did 8 hours of driving on Monday. So not sure of its all just catching up with me.

LucilleTheVampireBat · 15/07/2021 18:33

I've got my second one tomorrow night so will update for anyone following this.

I had zero side effects after 1st pfizer. Even the sore arm lasted less than 12 hours.

takeyourcanvasbag · 15/07/2021 19:54

Awful after first, no side effects from second.

CodyBurns · 15/07/2021 20:17

I felt really grotty after my first dose but perfectly fine after my second. No sore arm, nothing.

garlictwist · 15/07/2021 20:23

I didn't have any symptoms after either Pfizer jab other than a sore arm (slightly worse soreness after the second one). Do you think this means the jab isn't working and my immune system isn't responding?

SnowWouldHelp · 15/07/2021 20:28

I think it probably varies too much for you to predict how you'll be. I felt run down after the first and ridiculously exhausted after the second but it was just a couple of days.

thinkingaboutitall · 15/07/2021 20:40

I have only just been able to book my first dose

I don’t feel unwell but tbh, I underestimated the impact on my arm! Unsure if I had a nurse that was inexperienced or if this is normal? Initially my arm bled a lot (soaked through the plaster) and now has a large bruise in the area. My arm feels rock solid and generally heavy 5 days after the jab. I normally have a high pain tolerance but I’m glad I’ve been able to work from home (bed!) this week. Carrying household items and even getting dressed is awkward & painful.

I’ve never had this reaction to an injection before and I’m fully vaccinated. Roll on dose 2, I guess.
