Covishield for France

Posted this in travel but it must be quiet in there at the moment.

Has anyone been to France recently? I'm trying to find out how much checking is going on to see if travellers have had one of the Covishield AZ batches.

DH is the only one in our party of six adults who's had one of the three batches. Going at end of the month. I'd love to know what the checking procedure is.

TIA.

Same here @Panicmode1. we were going to drive so we could get back quick if needs be. Haven’t see my Dad in 3 years.

This is probably a really stupid question, but now that France is saying double vaccinated people can come in without needing to do a test, I'm feeling tempted to go on our holiday again, but - what happens if you catch it while on hols and then therefore can't present a negative test to get back into UK (via eurotunnel)?

Would you be turned back at the border and have to find somewhere in Calais to stay and wait it out until you tested positive?

Yes, and you have to quarantine for 10 days on return, and do day 2 and 8 tests, as well as a test 3 days before returning to the UK.

Although according to an FT article today border officials have been told not to do any checks as not enough staff!

That is not the experience of friends who have gone. Everything was checked (via ferry and tunnel). I have no idea about airports

Seems like it's a mixed bag/ luck of draw in that case. Academic as far as I'm concerned anyway as now going to sunny (I do so fervently hope and pray) Wales, Sussex and Northumberland.

Covishield now accepted in France.

Now all we need is for the UK to reciprocate by recognising our EU delivered vaccinations.
