AstraZenica Indian batch? Holidays?

MotherOfDemons · 14/07/2021 16:15

How would you find out if you have been given the AZ Indian made batch of the vaccine?

I'm not going on holiday this year but I am next and I worry this will impact upon that.

I shouldn't have had AZ anyway due to my age Hmm

my DH had one of these Indian made jabs, not worried at all, not even considering a holiday in the middle of a pandemic.

WrongKindOfFace · 14/07/2021 16:21

If you look on the nhs app you can see the batch numbers you were given. There are a handful that were Indian made.

mumsneedwine · 14/07/2021 16:22

It's all sorted now anyway. All AZ acceptable no matter where made.

VariantL1130 · 14/07/2021 16:34

I had one. It doesn't worry me as I've no foreign holidays planned.

I'm also not convinced it's an issue. The vaccine passport states it's Astrazeneca. I'm not convinced border patrols are going to be checking batch numbers.

oneglassandpuzzled · 14/07/2021 16:42

There was a report today of a couple bitter off a flight to Malta for this very reason. France and Italy will not accept the Indian batches either.

You can find your batch number on your vaccination card or on the NHS app (not the COVID 29 check-in app).

Aposterhasnoname · 14/07/2021 16:45

By next year it’ll be a complete non issue. Malta have already done another one day u turn, after the 24 hour no digital NHS passes fiasco, and are now accepting it.

It’s automatically checked against a list of acceptable codes when they scan your QR code

No it isn’t.
mygood · 14/07/2021 19:37

it has been resolved and European countries are accepting all AZ

WrongKindOfFace · 14/07/2021 19:43

But is still hasn’t been approved by the European Medicines Agency.

Panicmode1 · 14/07/2021 19:46

It isn't all sorted if you are going to France. They are still saying they won't accept it, but equally won't say if they are checking batch numbers or not......15 other EU countries have accepted it, the EU have told Malaysia and other countries using Covishield that they will accept it, but the French are being, well, very French about it!

do you have a link about this Panicmode1 as when I have been checking I am not seeing anything on any of the EU countries websites about the batch numbers. Malta did have info on it last week but they have updated it now.

Vaccination status
The French Government recognises the following vaccines: Pfizer, Moderna, Oxford/AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson (the vaccines recognised by the European Medical Agency). “Fully vaccinated” is defined by the completion of a vaccination schedule, specifically:

2 weeks after the second dose of Pfizer, Moderna, Oxford/AstraZeneca
4 weeks after the single and only dose of Johnson & Johnson
2 weeks after the single dose of any of the above vaccines if you have previously tested positive for COVID-19

Honestly believed that about most of the pandemic, yet here we are.

I am glad to see it seems to have been resolved at least in Malta but who knows!

At the moment, it is not accepted in France, the French won't confirm or deny if they are looking for batch numbers, no-one will give a straight answer, so those of us who have had one of the batches, are stuck in the middle.

There are loads of articles out there...and no clarity from the French....
