Urging us to be cautious? We won't know hospitalisations & cases will be like in a fortnight after the euros... I am double vaxxed, we have done everything the govt has asked of us.... I'm sure I'll be flamed for being a pessimist but I think there will be more lockdowns to come...

They've had a lot of practice at that sort of thing @RafaIsTheKingOfClay.

Well quite.

And it was quite lucky they’d already laid the groundwork on the NHS in preparation for privatising it. Covid was a gift for them.

My question, and I’m really not being factious, who is dying?

Very possibly, people who are already very sick or elderly, and dying with covid because they've caught it in hospital when they're in for something else.“

Yes, these patients plus, according to an ICU consultant on World at One/PM a few day’s ago, predominantly unvaccinated people.
Anecdotal of course, but can’t think why he wouldn’t be telling the truth.

The definition of insanity is to repeat the same actions and expect a different result.

It is a tragedy for families losing loved ones but is 50 deaths massively unusual? I just dont know anymore.
Surely with the size of the population, some deaths are sadly inevitable.

It's a never ending cycle with this government.

There were another 60 deaths too (after 60 days). They always get ignored, but I think with better treatments, it can mean people are ill for longer.

Mr Johnson will not have enough support from his own backbenchers to extend restrictions. If he was like Mr Churchill whom he so admires, he would reach out to find some common ground with Labour and the Lib Dems (at a guess, continued face coverings by law). However, he won't do this.
