Loss of taste and sense of smell. How long?

Hi all,

I currently have covid. Probably my first day where I don’t feel too bad. Cough is subsiding, no temperature but loss of taste and sense of smell is really getting to me. How long did it last for you? I know when I’m eating something sugary etc but just can’t get the taste through currently 😢

About 10 months till fully back and still have off days

UPDATE: Thankfully taste and smell came back about 6 days ago. Although some things still smell slightly different!

Has anyone who lost there's got any update?

I tested positive for covid (for the 2nd time..great!) Last week wednesday and between friday/Saturday completely lost smell and taste. On Friday taste and smell was about 20% and then it went to nothing.

I can distinguish strong flavors eg lemon, ginger, pepper as sweet/tangy/spicy but that's about it. If there's no strong taste i can't taste at all. Smell is completely zero..even strong scents.

Ive gone off food now and am basically vegetarian until it returns.

Its really getting me down and it hasn't even been a full week. Seeing people say they went months like this is very worrying to me !!

It lasted 4 weeks for me. It came back gradually.

Hi @NLW91 - my taste and smell has just gone. Can I ask what zinc you got? I am desperate to get it back
