Just took a furniture delivery. Thought it would be left on the doorstep as always but the man came in to drop it in my hallway. Presumably because it was heavy and he saw I was pregnant and he was trying to be helpful but it freaked me out! Another man came in with the second box breathing really heavily. Neither were wearing masks :(.

The first man then stayed to scan the bar codes so probably was in for about 2 mins total, and the first man about 10 seconds, the front door was open so there was air circulating.

Am i being paranoid? Im heavily pregnant and really cant be catching Covid now :(

OP asked if she was being paranoid -- I take that as OP wants honest opinions.

Alternista · 12/07/2021 12:46

Did you wear a mask?

UndercoverToad · 12/07/2021 12:58

@lljkk no! I took that to be self effacing, not an excuse to pile on!

We have a box of blue masks by the door, so if needed we can offer them in this sort of situation, for a gardener nipping through the house etc. A few minutes with the door open is fine, but next time "Thank you. Please would you wear a mask as I'm pregnant." And offer them a mask.

Let's have some compassion shall we?

OP is pregnant and probably suffering with some health anxiety.

You were not being over dramatic so don't worry about select few on here.

Air was circulating so that's good. If you want them to wear a mask just ask them to or if they can't just keep your distance if you can.

Chances are as you were worried you were probably stood away anyway.

Try not to panic and enjoy your pregnancy.

Your being paranoid.

they should have asked you rather than just assumed you needed it brought in but you have a voice so why didn't you just say "no thanks just leave it at the door" if you were that worried?
It's highly unlikely that you'll catch covid from being in the same space as someone for a couple of minutes.
