Why can’t T&T understand fucking contact isolation ?

Just commented on another thread here, where the OP has been advised by T&T to extend her isolation. A second person in her household has tested positive, but she has no symptoms. So she continues her original 10 days. She does not keep extending and extending her 10 days until the last positive person reaches the end of their own 10 days.

I think it’s unforgivable that T&T either don’t understand this or can’t communicate it.

I experienced exactly the same last week when a second person in my household tested positive. T&T still continue to email me with the later isolation date. I don’t know if it’s because they can’t link household cases or they’re just untrained. But the fucking gov.uk official procedure to follow is here (it was updated June 2021)

No wonder the uk is currently paralysed by everyone isolating if T&T can’t get it right.

It is scandalous what a complete shambles T&T is, particularly given that literally billions have been spent on it. When DS caught Covid he first noticed symptoms in the evening having been out and about during the day. The T&T contact tracer told him he didn't need to tell her about contacts on the same day that he started to show symptoms

God it’s shit. I do think part of it is that their systems can’t link households. It is incredible that the length of isolation time they impose on you is (allegedly) legally enforceable, even if it’s completely wrong!

Perhaps we’d do better if they just used a random date generator off google
